Any hope for subsequent babes?

Has anyone had a DC with severe intolerances and then gone on to have one with no issues, or only mild issues? If so what did you do in between, and if you were already educated on the issue and doing gut healing measures in between were there any outwards signs your gut had healed (so you were optimistic things would be better the next time)? Or were you surprised that YDC seemed okay?

subbing...dd 1 has more issues and more severe issues than dd2--dd1's didn't surface until dd2 was in utero.
dd2 does have some typical responses (IGE type) to certain foods, but is far easier than dd1.
DS and DD2 both take after me, and DD1 is similar is constitution to DH's side...I was being treated for adrenals with dd2 and I think that helped? Who knows...

I'm pg with #2, and hopeful... Dd seems to have a million intolerances, but no known IgE allergies.

Here's some of what I'm thinking will help:

And a side note, I don't think my gut's ever been in that bad of shape. It got worse on the elimination diet, and I think I've made net progress from pre-dd at this point, but I don't think it's a major variable for us...

DS is severely allergic to Peanuts and treenuts, and mildly allergic to casein. Turns out he's also sensative to gluten. My twins have no asthma or allergies AT ALL but they are gluten intollerant as well. They are genetic half siblings though. In my family, I am the eldest and have asthma and allergies, my brother has NO asthma allergies (or any health probs for that matter) and my youngest brother also has asthma and allergies. It's def possible to get a kid with no or less allergies... or maybe worse ones. Luck of the draw

Eldest ds has a history of severe eczema, multiple food allergies (including some anaphylactic ones, highest count was over 20 different foods), drug allergies, seasonal allergies, dust mite allergy and dander allergies (including 2 anaphylactic ones).

DS2 has mild seasonal allergies and a history of mild eczema.

DD has a history of severe eczema, multiple food allergies (milk, peanut, tree nuts, but no history of anaphylaxis), drug allergies, dander allergies and mild seasonal allergies.

DS3 has no history of eczema or allergies.

If it's all allergies... my DH's family has 4 kids, my DH is the 3rd. All of them have seasonal allergies, only DH has allergy-induced asthma. None of them have food sensitivities.

For my kids, DD1 has environmental allergies, DS and DD2 HAD environmental allergies, but after going off the food triggers, the environmental allergies disappeared. DS and DD2 both have food sensitivities, but DD2's seem to be getting better faster, and DS's reactions are worse, but I don't know if that's because he's had his for longer. He (2nd child) reacted through my milk, she (3rd child) didn't react until direct ingestion, so not sure if that means something or not either.

I always have hope.

I just met someone whose's first born had ana from milk and had a long list of food allergies, and has asthma to boot. Her second born? Nothing. And he is 5, something would have turned up by now more than likey.

My oldest is 4 and is allergic to dairy and eggs and intolerant to corn. He also has environmental allergies, asthma, and eczema. My second son is 2 and has no allergies at all.

Its interesting how everyone has different stories. I kind of thought mine was typical, but maybe not. I guess there are just so many factors.

My 3 kids each reacted to BM as infants with increasing severity - DS1 was a happy refluxer on meds, DS 2 had colitis but not terribly, and DD had severe reflex and colitis and is very sensitive to multiple foods. I assume the problem is that each pregnancy further depleted me of necessary nutrients and my leaky gut kept getting worse on the SAD I was eating. So even though I've been working on my gut health and nutrition over the past 18 months I worry that if DC #4 is in the cards he / she will be doomed to even worse issues. It's enough to make me hesitant to try for another, if I spend too much time thinking about it.

As a side note - none of my kids have IgE food allergies (although I wonder if DD's milk issue is becoming an allergy). DS 1 is allergic to penicillin and has environmental allergies and DS2 has some malabsorption issues but doesn't seem to have any issues with specific foods (nothing comes up with food journaling or the ED's we've done anyhow).

AJ is our oldest and was very mild. We didn't know conclusively he had milk/soy issues till he turned 1, then eggs followed soon after. By 2.5yo he was fine.

Evan was my TED baby and intolerant to everything. Went to Neocate full time at 1 and was on it till 2, was fine by 2.5.

Ilana was milk, soy, egg, wheat and went to Neocate full time at 9.5 mos and stayed till 2. She was fine by then.

Olivia is just like Evan and we have at least 11 things she's intolerant to (dairy, soy, egg, and wheat of course) and I did the TED. She's still ebf, a first for me, and we're hoping to avoid Neocate this time.
