How many carriers do you have? (and which gets the most use?)

3 for me:
-- Ergo Sport, used every day around the house.
-- Pikkolo, used for a vacation when DD was little b/c the Moby was too hot. Now it's my second choice b/c the Ergo is more comfy/easier.
-- Moby, washed, folded and put away. Used when DD was a newborn only.

I have my eye on ring slings now, one maya redo and a solarveil...

(There is an old thread on this, but I thought I'd ask again start a new one to get updated info.)

Pouches - a bunch I use these exclusively with a newborn for the first few months. I have one in solarveil that I loved with my dd born in June

Maya Ringsling - 2 I use these after the pouch when babe outgrows pouch but is too small for MT or Ergo

MayaTie - loved it when my first was a toddler, but haven't used it much since I got my...

ERGO! #1 favorite, hands down, use it every day and have barely picked up another sling since I got it

I have a Moby and my husband has the Infantino carrier.

I use the Moby, but I've been eying mei tais and babyhawks. I just can't afford one right now.

I have a

Kangaroo Korner Adjustable Fleece Pouch (great for winter walks!)

BabyHawk Mai Tei (May be more useful once I figure out the back carries)

Slinglings.com sateen stretch pouch, unpadded. This is my go-to sling, and was for DD1 too. Comfy, easy, baby likes it, I like it, and I LOVE the gorgeous fabric - I get comments, compliments and questions about it all the time.

1 maya wrap ring sling
2 Cuddly wraps (like moby)
2 Ellaroos (woven wraps)
1 Storch (woven wrap)
1 baby trekker
1 Babyhawk MT
2 cotton pouches
1 fleece pouch
1 solerveil pouch
1 Backpack carrier (for hiking)

I also used to have an Ergo but sold it because we never used it... I don't have the right body type for it and DH likes the babyhawk best....

I use wraps pretty much exclusively... the cuddly wraps for newborns and then the Storch is my favourite... I used to love the Ellaroo's but my last was a big baby and the Ellaroo's didn't stand up to his weight...

The pouches haven't been out in years now except for the solarveil one which is great in the pool and in the shower...

The ring sling has been lent out many times but I didn't use it much last time because of ds#3's weight... it was my fav with ds#1 and ds#2 though...

DH loves the Babyhawk and uses it exclusively...

I probably shouldn't post because I'm new to this, but ...

I have:

Moby: haven't tried it yet, waiting for the new lo
Beco: works fine for my toddler
Babyhawk: love the back carry w/ toddler, but mostly bought it for DP
2 pouches: waiting for new lo

Had a ring sling but it didn't work too well for me. Maybe it's my slow learning curve, maybe the sling, but it just didn't work well

I have way way to many carriers. Wraps, ringslings, MT's, a pouch, and a few other random carriers. I will not mention numbers, I really don't want to count them up! I mainly use wraps because they are just so much more comfortable than any other carrier for me, although I have been using ring slings more lately when DS wants up for just a quick cuddle, or wants in a carrier from the car to the store (where he wants to ride in a cart). Pouches have not been used since DS was maybe 18 months, and MT's come out occasionally when I need to tie a tantruming toddler on and I just cannot get him in a wrap, or when the weather has me reluctant to get a wrap dirty.

I have a 3-month old

BabyBjorn- used daily by DH and I
Moby- used several times a week by me, facing in when sleepy, out when awake

homemade pouch sling and ring sling- never used. baby screams in them. Will keep trying
post #9 of 22
I had an Over the Shoulder Baby Holder with DS. Hated it.

Bjorn - DH uses this around the house. I haven't used it since DS was 1.5.

Pouch sling - used it daily when DD was tiny, but haven't used it in a couple of months.

Mei Tai - every time I go shopping, and frequently around the house lately since DD is being incredibly clingy.

1 mei tai (homemade - used extremely frequently when DD was younger but less now)
1 merry carry (woven - the carrier I use nowadays)
1 ring sling - sleeping baby (hanging in closet - will use for new baby)

I have about 20 which are a mix of pouches, slings, mei tais, and SCCs.
Right now I mainly use my old Hotsling pouch with my 10 wk old. I have 4 Hotslings but one is softer than the others so I'm drawn to that one. I use it daily.
But I'm sure I'll be using my mei tais and SCCs more as she gets heavier. I'm betting my Moshi SCC and Eden velvet mei tai get the most use next.

Many of my other pouches and slings I like to use to match to outfits and for certain weather such as my warm slingified didy in the winter and my thin linen in the summer.

My son is only 2 months old, but I feel like I am becoming one of "those people" who starts collecting carriers (no offense to anyone ;o). Here is what I have so far:
-1 MamaBaby Maya Wrap ring sling-- nice overall; great for nursing in public, but is a bit too stretchy, causing my ~15 lb baby to sink kind of low and hurt my back a little; has been my primary carrier up until earlier this week, when I got my...
-2 home-made mei tais (made by my mother-in-law )-- I have used one of them three times, including on my son's first hike today, and I really like the two-shoulder support (as long as I wear him high enough). It is comfy for both of us. I just got the other one today, so I haven't tried it out yet (one is fleece/warmer, the other is a lighter/cooler material)
-I also have a Belle Baby carrier that I have used some (it was a gift), but I don't like how he hangs from his crotch (Bjorn-style, almost), and it hurts my shoulders after a while, so I will probably use my mei tais in place of it now.

I would like to get a SSC (my mother-in-law, who also sewed our entire cloth diaper & cover stash, is talking about making me one-- hooray!), and maybe a less stretch ring sling as well.

I have a 7mo ds and I own:

a moby - haven't used since ds was little but holding onto it for the next babe
woven wrap (girasol earthy rainbow ) - used daily for walking the dog, fussy baby or when I'm going to carry ds for a long time (naps, festivals, hiking, etc)
a kozy MT - used daily at home for back carries while cooking or cleaning
ergo - used daily by dh for walks with the dog or for fussy baby
maya LP ring sling - lives in the car, used daily for errands, grocery store, etc.
homemade ring sling - used occasionally, matches outfits the other sling doesn't and has a much longer tail so if I'm going to NIP I'll wear it out
rebozo - gift, not great support, lives in the car, very bright and colorful, used occasionally
bjorn type carrier - gift, never taken out of the box
water wrap (rebozo) - just got this last week but I've used it twice to take ds in the shower with me
old snugli - it's actually like a MT, it was what mil wore dh in and it doesn't fit either of us well but we've tried it on and own it so it goes on my list

I guess I use my maya sling and my woven wrap the most with kozy coming in close behind. I should show this list to my dh to help me justify my addiction/my desire for more carriers

I hate pouches - do not own any.

I have:

An Ergo. (handy when its rainy for an older child - as the straps don't get wet then! hehe)

A few wraps:

A kajta Didy
A Indio Didy
A Bebina
And a Mam Eco

A few Rings slings:

2X Freedom RS
1 Bara Barn (slingafied) (currently on its way to me - just bought it hehe)
A water RS -its such a lovely lime green colour! hehe

A few MT (and a Pod):

Beanslings (love it!)
Kozy
And a 'My Bei Bei' (currently also on its way to me hehe)

OmG - that makes 12! lmao....

I will end up with 16 though (If I get my way - and I will )...Cause I am gonna get:

A Connecta (for DH mostly)
A Girasol (Felice - I need her!!! lol)
Another Indio Didy - cause I love them the most of all wraps I have tried!
And a Sakura Bloom (in Silk - for colder months - Was gonna get linen, but am not in love with any of the linen colours)
I also want another beansling cause they are my favourite MT's...but I really fell in love with wraps so we shall see! hehe

PS - Some of these were used with DS - now four. I no longer wear him, hes far too heavy for me at 50lbs! lol The others I have bought over the past few years for this very much longed for and planned baby!

for reference, i'm currently wearing an approx. 25 lb 17 month old. what i have, and what i use, changes depending on who i'm wearing

1 iHosa Chunei- this gets the most regular use by far
2 SSC's - a tall-bodied DIY SSC which is DH's favorite, and a Baby Patapum (patapum on loan to SIL)
3 mei tai's - a babyhawk, a freehand and a kozy (babyhawk on loan to SIL) the kozy is my car carrier
2 podaegis - 1 Freehand narrow blanket, 1 Ellaroo wide blanket
2 pouches - both DIY, one is casual cotton batik, the other dressy asian brocade
2 rebozos/rebozo length wraps - gypsymama breeze and an actual rebozo. i really just these as shawls/scarves now

when i have tiny babies i always have a couple of ring slings and usually at least one wrap. but with a bad shoulder i don't do ring slings anymore with a heavy toddler (though i do keep some sling ring so i can slingify the rebozos if i had a need for a RS), and i don't really wrap after the first 6 months, so i've gotten rid of all my wraps.

i've had a zillion different carriers in and out of here over the last 6.5 years of babywearing. i like trying new things, and my needs change depending on the age/size of my kids, so it is an ever-changing and evolving carrier situation here.

Oh, y'all are making me feel loads better about my sling collection!!! DH rolls his eyes every time I mention slings, he thinks I'm obsessed, but I only have seven!! (Okay, so "only" might not be quite the right word, but compared with 20, I'm staying pretty minimal!)

I have one of each of the following:
- Infantino padded pouch (borrowed) - used it once when DD was 3 days old and hated it, is now in the pile of things to return to lender
- Handmade cotton ringsling (bought used from Craigslist) - I use it occasionally, it was good in summer 'cause it's lightweight, probably will see more use when DD is big enough to comfortably hip-carry
- Baby Bjorn (borrowed) - we used this occasionally when DD was littler, most particularly for a long hiking trip when the Moby would have been way too hot. I'm not a huge fan of it, but it was great for hiking. I'm ready to return it now, though - I don't like her dangling from her crotch in it, and it hurts my shoulders.
- Ergo (purchased used from Ebay) - definitely my all-time favorite. I love it - it's worth every penny I paid and then some.
- fitted pouch sling (gift) - I've never liked this much and don't use it anymore, it was always a bit uncomfortable and felt like it was sliding off my shoulder. And DD looked awfully uncomfortable squashed in there in newborn carry.
- frame hiking backpack (borrowed) - waiting for DD to be big enough to use it.
- Moby - my BFF when DD was a newborn, and still a favorite.

Carriers

Our carriers :
- Over the Shoulder Baby Holder - Padded Ring Sling
- Generic Unpadded Ring Sling
- Homemade Mei Tai
- Beco Butterfly
- 3 lengths of plain cotton cloth that get used for wraps

Right now, the Beco gets the most use.

When the new baby arrives, I expect to be using the slings for the baby and DH will be used the Beco with DS.

Nobody has used the Mei Tie since I got the Beco.

DH used the cloths for back carriers more than me. I mostly used them when we were going somewhere nicer and I wanted something that would match what I was wearing.

We borrowed a framed backpack carrier when DD #1 was 2. DH found it hot and bulky (and it was supposedly a good one) and swore that a piece of cotton cloth beat it hands down.

I have four woven wraps which I love and and plan to get one more before my December baby gets here:

EllaRoo Mary (our first wrap ever)
Ultramarine Indio Didy (very cuddly)
Inka Storchenwiege
Earth Rainbow Girasol (just got here)
and I plan on an organic Neobulle Lin

I used the ER Mary most with dd, hands down. Not sure which will win with the babe to be.

We also have a Freehand Mei Tai which we love, and I wear it sometimes just because I miss it, even though wraps are my true loves. DH wears EllaRoo Mary or the Mei Tai.

I have four, but don't use them a whole lot anymore because my DD prefers to be free-range most of the time.

Moby Wrap - used a lot when she was tiny
Maya Ring Sling - use the most of any of my carriers, we still use it a lot when we're out and about
Mai Tei - use occasionally, but I'm not the biggest fan of all the tying and it just doesn't work well for us
Pouch sling - Used it once or twice before I got my ring sling, but I never really liked it. I should just sell it.

I've bought:

A Hotsling pouch -- DD and I both hated this, so I gave it away months ago.

A homemade Moby-style wrap -- I looooved this when she was tiny, but once she hit about 18 pounds it became too uncomfortable for me.

A Maya ring sling -- I used this all. the. time. when she was younger, and still use it quite a bit (maybe a couple of times per week).

A Beco Butterfly SSC -- DH uses this when we go for walks and hikes, and I use it occasionally too and really like it. For some reason the ring sling is my go-to carrier, though. I just think it's so pretty and easy to use.
