3 weeks...still bright red?

i am now 3 weeks PP and my bleeding is still bright red with some small occasional clots in the toilet...although it is not a heavy flow.
everything says this should stop after DAYS.
do i call my dr? i mean, is there really anything they could do anyway? i just have a feeling this is not so normal.
any experience?

It could be a sign you're overdoing things, are you getting the rest that you need? It's only really a big problem if your uterus isn't shrinking down as it should be or the flow is heavy. Not normal in my experience, but I wouldn't worry too much. Call your care provider to check in if you're concerned by all means.

Mine was bright until the end. It never got brown, it got pinkish, and then just mucousy for a week, then nothing.

I did not have clots though.

Rest lots, if you can.

What a Doctor would do is examine your uterus to see how small it is. If it's much larger than normal, they might do an ultrasound to see if there's anything happening.

I bled for a good eight weeks. It was bright red, with tiny clots. If it starts to get much heavier, like soaking a pad every hour, call you dr right away. You may be doing too much. Try to rest as much as possible. Birth takes a lot out of you. Congrats on your baby!

Apparebtly, my vagina never read any of the books, lol, because i too had bright red, heavy bleeding for 6+ weeks after each of my births.
