Just got back from ym favorite thrift shop, and it was 3-for-1 day. All items with red tags were buy 1, get 2 free!! I got:

for me
- NWT London Fog mainline trench coat (I cannot tell you how long I've been looking for one of these in my size!!!!)
-old navy corduroy jacket
-banana republic silk shirt
- Ann Taylor cargo pants
- sonoma polo shirt with layered look long sleeves
- adorable little pink cropped jacket
- gap thermal LS shirt
- nine west + co 3/4 sleeve cardigan sweater

But wait, there's more! For my oldest son (who has gone through a wicked growth spurt and nothing fits!) I got:
- a gap fleece pullover
- two pairs of gap chinos
- a pair of adidas rip-away pants
- two long sleeve tee shirts
- an old navy LS polo shirt

Plus I got three new books for my learning-to-read 5 year old.

Guess what my grand total was?

$26.35!!!!!!!!!

My favorite stores don't have BOGO days, sometimes the church run store has 50% off racks but really slim pickings. I usually go on Tuesdays so this was yesterday.

$2 each for my son:
L.L. Bean fleece lined jacket
Red Puma jacket
Monkey costume
Camo rain boots
Thermal sleeper
Brown sneakers
Two pairs of Nike warm-up pants (red/black & brown/blue)
Nike warm-up jacket

$2.50 for momma
Two pj's sets (button up collard top with matching pants kind)

All $3 each:
Bag of 80 mega blocks
Tiger xylophone
Barn that opens and stores about 40 mega blocks (included)
Giant Tonka truck

Honestly, I steer away from the salvo when it's family day (50% off everything). I can't bear to wait in lines to the end of the store.

I did go wait in line at the local kid 2 kid for their annual bag sale, though. I got two bags for $10 each full of some maternity clothes, toys, a few things for my DS (2t & 3t are so popular, there's hardly anything usually), and about all I need still for my new baby due in january. I added it up at the pre-clearance sale price and it was $120-something for $20. Not bad.

I did just score a sweet castle off of craigslist. See my thread a little further down the page! Saved close to $300.

I left Goodwill with a HUGE bag of great finds yesterday but my fav item in the bag was a t-shirt from Children's Place for $1.25. It's a t-shirt that DD spotted new in the store in the Spring, but no way was I going to pay full price for it. But now she has it, loves it, looks great in it and it's slightly big on her so she should get to wear it next summer too if we're lucky.

Many many times I've spent a lot of money on something new only to spot the same item at the Goodwill for practically pennies so I get super excited when I go to Goodwill and actually find an item I WANTED to buy new, but didn't.

We braved the SA Wednesday 50% off clothes long line to get

ruffly white shirt
pair of red and white stripped PJ pants
black wool skirt

for $5

That will become a pirate outfit for my son's Halloween costume.
Not the best find ever, but I was pleased to have all the stuff for the costume for that price.
