Washing hemp w/ prefolds- is this a no-no?

Is THAT what I did wrong?? We've been having some leak issues and I just stripped all our dipes, but still having leaks. I bought a couple Thirsties hemp doublers a couple months ago and I wash them w/ the rest of my dipes and covers. I just read in one of my other posts that you shouldn't do that b/c of the natural oils. Is that why we're having so many leaks??

Should I wash the hemp stuff separately? I only have a couple- seems like a huge waste to do a load w/ only 3 hemp things. Guess I'll have to buy more hemp stuff to even out the loads. I also wash the Berry Plush hemp snap-in w/ our dipes. Should I keep that out, too??

The natural oils should only be an issue for the first, maybe 2-4 washes. For those first pre-washes, you should wash them separately. After that it shouldn't be an issue.

Are all your diapers leaking, or just certain styles?

Mostly just the prefolds are leaking. It was just w/ our Thirsties covers- the PUL has cracked on those. I'm sending them back to get them fixed (apparently they have a lifetime repair warranty). But now our other covers are leaking, too. Like the Imse Vimse- that was my fave and was working really well. Not sure why it's leaking now.

I just stripped all the dipes (prefolds, inserts) in really hot water. We have a sanitize cycle on our washer. Rinsed them like 5 times. They smelled really nice! I thought it would do the trick.

I think the only ones that haven't leaked are our BG OS.

with only three pieces of hemp I would not imagine it is enough oils to coat your other diapering stuff. I would not attribute the leaking issue with these few pieces of hemp in your laundry.
I would attached the issue to your covers. might be time for a change.
Nikky's are great covers -- no PUL and bulletproof.
