I think it would take about 6 large apples chopped to fill a 4 qt half way. That will make about 3 cups of apple butter. I usually don't make more than that at once - but since it freezes well, no reason not to do so. I have two sizes too, my larger is oval shaped and I prefer this shape because it is wider than it is a tall I I can stir it better.

You can can the apple butter, too. My SIL does that -- she'll make up to 20 quarts or so at a time and can it, so she they have it all winter. And she shares with us, which is divine, as we've not generally been able to find a really good price on apples. You can it just like you would jam or jelly, I believe.

Any Fairbanks/North Polians going to the Rocky Horror Picture Show tomorrow night? I can hardly wait. My best friend is a PA at Urgent Care so is meeting me there after she gets off work in her scrubs (Dr. Frankenfurter). I'm going as a modified Magenta.

Wow! I haven't thought about Rocky Horror in several years. I've never been, though I have had friends who have gone. They had a blast when they went.

My plans for tomorrow night include stitching. I would like to finish the gift for my sister and her husband this week. Hopefully I won't get anyone knocking on my door as my light will be off.

And really, watching it on tv is no where near as fun as going to a live showing with audience participation. So the better you know the lines, the more of the actions you can do.

You've missed NOTHING.

Hobbit, I don't think there are any actual peds that aren't associated with either the hospital or TVC (billing is all done through FMH and it sucks).

Lol it's not the watching it that is the fun part. It is seeing it performed and taking part in the audience participation.

I haven't seen it either. I don't want to see it unless it is performed and I can go with someone that knows all the little activities one is supposed to do at each point.

Otherwise I will not go.

And this would be a one time thing anyway.

I watched 2001 A Space Odyssey and Clockwork Orange and my take on both of those is that the people that enjoy them must be on something... seriously.

I haven't seen it either. I've seen people come out of the theater covered in all kinds of stuff after watching it (looked like food matter perhaps??)... and that alone probably set my mind that it wasn't a "must do" for me. LOL

I've seen Rocky Horror toooo many times. If my kids ever learn that I know all the participation parts and expect them to participate - "Ugh, my mom is such a dork!! She is such an embarrassment." It is definitely a show that is pretty much impossible to explain. My mom asked to me to explain "camp" once - I guess this is in the same catagory. Actually, I don't understand right now why its fun. Maybe it is just the fun of 200 fools in really odd costumes doing the same thing in sync.

Want to go with me tonight? We are meeting at Brewsters on old Steese. I'll be in costume, my girlfriend Jan will be in costume. I don't think the other two girls that are going will be in costume.

Thanks for the invite, but alas I am in Anchorage..

Plus we JUST got home and I am POOPED. Went to TaeKwonDo, and then costumes and then mall for trick or treating, but ended up watching a magic show... then to Grandma's then back to trick or treating, then grocery shopping and a quick stop for some new Wii games (allowance week)..

This pregnant mama is toast... Although I DO think that grocery shopping as Leia is kind of fun.

How did the evening go?

We had a yummy feast of Ogre Finger Stew, Human Loaf, Baked Potatoes, etc......

Then my Zombie Family went out Trick or Treating!
we had "Joseph", the Zombie Target Worker,
and a homecoming queen Zombie

I have issues with movies that have no plots or can't be explained or are just freakin' weird....Rocky Horror, Burn After Reading, Pulp Fiction....yeah. And the thing with Rocky Horror is you either love it or loathe it, there's no real inbetween.

We went to Nordale's carnival last night, to swimming, karate, West Valley, Wood Center and Bentley today. DD didn't get a bunch of candy - I gave her a few pieces throughout the day. I, however, claimed every fruit Tootsie Roll in her bag...

DS isn't feeling well. He work with a fever and a cough yesterday and did okay but was a grump today.
