Have a finger-feeder with few teeth? What do you feed them?

I'm just in desperate need of some ideas. My baby likes bananas, cheese, buttered toast, dry cereal, but I end up spoon feeding a lot of her fruits/veggies because she only has her front 4 teeth.

For veggies, I steam peas, corn, broccoli, green beans, carrots, etc. until soft. My son picks them up and chews them just fine. For fruit, I just cut it in manageable pieces too. Babies can chew with their gums just fine.

for veggies I will give my 1yr old who has 6teeth things like green beans, peas, sweet potato diced up, the same with carrots. He absolutely loves diced cooked carrots and will squeal and chatter when he sees them on his plate.

For fruit, he can gum very thin slices of apples, halved grapes without the skin on. Any of the soft fruits such as pears, peaches, necterines, ect in thin slices or diced.

We also do meat with him, and he does well with ground meats, shredded chicken, scrambled eggs(though not his favorite by any means) He also loves eating cooked dried type beans. Black beans and bbq beans are his favorite, but will eat any cooked bean.

He also does well eating rice, and noodles with his favorite being spaghetti.

Pretty much - he eats whatever we are eating - just not as much but loves our food.
About the only thing that goes through in his stools is pinapple pieces, and once in a while the skins from peas. That kind of stuff.

Every baby I know LOVES butternut squash. Just cut it into small chunks, and then steam to the point of almost being mushy. That's pretty much how I address feeding kiddos who are feeding themselves. Our kids have always had pretty much what we are, just cooked a little longer if needed to be soft enough. Also keep in mind, gums are a lot tougher than most people think, and can do a fine job of mashing w/o any teeth at all.

My ds LOVES all squash, but esp. butternut squash. I just cube it and saute it in butter. YUM.

Sweet potato, regular potato, steamed broccoli, raw cucumber, roasted carrots and parsnips, turnip, avacado...

He pretty much eats what we eat and he has no teeth! He will gum chicken, pork, beef, LOVES rice... He'll eat anything.

DS didn't get his first tooth until 11 months and the rest came slowly as well. I admit I gave him cubes of meat even before he had teeth to chew them with. I figure the teeth are just under the surface anyway. He LOVED steak and pork chops.
