Netflix Popups on MDC?

Am I the only one getting these? Every time I open MDC today I get a Netflix popup for every thread I click on. I restarted my browser, ran a virus sweep and all that jazz but I am still getting them.

Anyone else?

If not, what else can I try to get rid of the freaking things?

Hello,

We don't have pop-ups.

You should try running anti-spyware like spybot or ad-aware.

Me too. Netflix, twice when first loading up MDC today.

Nextag
Netflix
privacy matters
...etc

only happens when mothering is the only window I open and when I do it from my favorites link...very weird. Doesn't happen when I type "www.mothering..." into the browser bar.

We also have pop up blockers and firefox and all that-- my techie husband is telling me it has to be the site loading the ware.

Correction: it happens when you to the discussion board and not the mothering.com site. So if I type www.mothering.com- no pop up. If I go to 'www.mothering.com/discussions" there is a pop up.

Ran spybot, still getting it.

I got Netflix yesterday afternoon and this morning. Something IS going on.

I am running Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware right now, I'll see if that will do the trick!

Ran both full and quick scan-- no go-- still got a "classmates search" popup when going to the discussion boards. Did get rid of a few malware items, but doesn't look like they were the problem.

I get a message when I come to the site that a popup something has been blocked by my popup blocker; I haven't looked to see what the popup actually is, but I'd imagine it's the same as everyone else. So I'm getting them, too.

Yeah I should say that they are being blocked now that I set the blocker for MDC-- I had unset it because I was having some issues with PMs- which don't seem to be happening anymore- so I reset it for MDC and it is catching them.

Yeah - The PM issue ended up being related to the vbulletin upgrade. (software and templates being fussy for lack of a better word. lol)

ETA: I've sent a note asking the admins to check in here when they come online in their time zone.

I'm getting Netflix and Iwon, we have all kinds of anti-viral and spyware on the computer so it's not us. Not cool.

weird! I had to close a netflix pop-up several times yesterday and it didn't even occur to me that it was from MDC. But now I think it was b/c most of the time the other windows I have open at the same time are my school's blackboard, facebook, and gmail. I use firefox, fwiw, and have side ads blocked for MDC.

So glad I am not going crazy. I have run every spyware/virus cleanup thingy on our computer and they come up with nothing. I guess I had my pop-up blocker turned off yesterday. Never needed it before. But after running all my sweeps and realizing all other sites I frequent are clean, figured I better turn it on so I could view MDC in peace.

The MDC forums is the ONLY site that it is happening on. Just by loading the forums page and clicking on this thread, there have been 8 netflix popups blocked. A new one comes up every time a new page opens. If it helps the admins, the first part of the url of the pop up is always the same and is as follows:

Hope it gets figured out soon. Hate to have our forums bugged like that.

Now I keep getting the Jillian Michaels pop-up. (for sure from MDC)

Yes, I know I need to get in shape! But I don't want to buy your workout DVDs.
