Oh, Jesus God...

Went in for our first ultrasound yesterday - supposed to be a viability check, but they scheduled it so early on that there was nothing to see yet; no way to tell if there's a live embryo in there.

What they DID find, though, was something that looked like another gestational sac. H was fine about it; he just laughed and said something about two for one. I, on the other hand, rolled over and threw up. We didn't use fertility drugs and there's no history of twins in either of our families. I'm baffled - and FREAKED OUT.

for being freaked out. I have heard, anecdotally only, that multiples can be more likely after a loss.

When are they having you back for another u/s?

We won't go in again for two weeks.

I guess that makes sense, about the loss. The body's trying to make up for lost time, I guess. I also fall into the 'advanced maternal age' category, so I have this mental image of my ovaries throwing off eggs like groceries that are about to go bad and have to be eaten NOW.

Everybody told me that I'd get pregnant within six months of the loss, and it was six months TO THE DAY. My gyn laughed and told me she wished ALL of her patients listened so well.

I'm just on pins and needles. I never thought I'd be a candidate for multiples. Everybody thinks they'd be fun, you know, when you're young and imagining your perfect family, but I never, never anticipated it actually happening.

I never thought I'd have multiples either.. and then I did. LOL. I was pregnant with twins during my last surrogacy but we lost one very early on.

I hope things workout. I'm surprised they brought you in so early though. Goodness. :/

They brought me in so early because I just had a loss in March.

I don't blame you for being nervous at all. Obviously, it will all work out in the end, but I would be a little freaked out, too.

Thank God, you have (hopefully) 9 months to get used to the idea, if it is multiples.

Whoa! Crazy! I'll be watching for more news from you! How are your symptoms?

Well, looking at it from a selfish standpoint, it would be exciting to have a twin preggo on this board!
