i'm sitting in my living room in early labor, ladies- let me just give you the scoop! i think we're havin' a baby tonight...
on tuesday (my due date) i checked in with MW who i never met before, super nice but all business. we talked about the OB recommendation of induction at 40wks due to GD, she called that OB and he said i should be induced by monday
i told her i would think about it 
on my way home, i called my chiropractor up and went straight in, got adjusted, and was told to call him on friday for another, but that he didn't expect to see me 
at this point i was 1cm, soft, high, posterior, minimal effacement.
today i went back in to see my fave MW, and she framed the induction much more favorably (to me). she said it was absolutely my right to refuse (today i am 40+2) and suggested stripping my membranes (which the other MW didn't even mention!) so we did it. holy cow! it was intense, but way shorter and not as bad as i expected.. just prior to it i was 2cm, 80% effaced!! i think my chiro adjustment had A LOT to do with all the progress..
about an hour later the contrax started. intense, but at this point, i'm enjoying it. after 3wks of fakin' the funk with Braxton Hicks, it's finally the real deal, and it feels just like i'm in the ocean, being swept up by waves- i feel fabulous. about an hour ago i definitely lost more of my plug- WOAH!! i thought it was going to be similar to fertile mucus or something.. but no. it's seriously like a tacky, rubber plug, i couldn't believe it! and it just kept coming! which i'm hoping means my cervix is getting in the game.
so now i'm going to do some positioning exercises and get some rest until DH gets home, and see where we are at that point.
