So, shortly after I posted about my failed induction (scheduled for Saturday day night; didn't happen, we came home Sunday afternoon), I ended up actually fiiiiinally going into labor, totally on my own. Go figure, you know?
Anyway, Grey Ulrich was born at 4:24 p.m. on Monday the 28th. He weighed just under 9 lbs (8 lbs 15.6 oz) and was 19 inches long.
I have my birth story written up but it's not quite ready for posting yet. To summarize, we had a fast and furious five and a half hour labor... about four hours of active labor, then an hour and a half of pushing. It was great. Everything went really as well as I could have asked for and I'm glad I ended up getting to do it naturally rather than going the pitocin route.
We brought the baby home from the birth center last night and everything's been great so far. Tiring, but wonderful!
Just wanted to share my good news with you all. Big big
s to everyone who is still waiting to give birth. You're in my thoughts and I hope you're all holding your little guys and girls soon.
