tell me about your success with cd and the laundromat

we've just moved to an apartment w/o washer-dryer.
so, it's coin-op laundromat for us...

should I wet pail? I've always done dry pail but ds is now on solids and I honestly don't see myself doing laundry more than 2x/week.

should I worry about residue in the washer/dryers from others detergents and fabric softeners?

would you be grossed out if you used laundromat and knew someone was washing their babe's cd there?

thanks for your help!!

I don't think it's gross to wash diapers in a laundromat, but I do think you should rinse every diaper after use, even just the pee ones. I also think flats will work better than any other type of diaper for this. I wouldn't worry about residue unless it turns out to be a problem, just make sure not to use too much detergent yourself. I hope it's not too expensive in the long run. I've only done diapers in laundromats while on vacation or once when our home machine broke down....

I did it for about 8 months when my DD was fully CD. I basically went like 2-3 times a week brought laundry bag full of CDs the poopy ones I'd rinsed out at home and heavily saturated pee ones the dame but that was about it. Stuck them in one of there super capicity washers diapers liners and covers together and payed the full $2.50 to wash added a bit of tide and sometimes a dash of non clorine "bleach" washed hot rinsed cold and then stuck it all in the dryer.. Really wasn't a huge deal at all no one ever questioned what I was doing.
Oh my stash at the time was prefolds tiny tot fitted bummi and MEAF covers. and a few fuzzi bunz.

I used it the wash my CD in the same way I do now at my own washer, with the exception that in the laundromat I like to used hot water. I like to be sure to use vinegar as a softener. That's all.

I used to do my laundry twice a week and trying when it's possible at mornings, when most people are at work, so I can use all the machines freely and save some time.
Best!

When my washer was broken, I did it this way. I made sure I got two top loaders right next to each other. I'd do a cold rinse in one, open it(stopping it) then move the diapers to the next one to do a hot wash/warm rinse. Then back to the first one for a final rinse. My system worked!
