Yet another unsure person

I'm still not sure if I should vaccinate my son. We're already delaying them and my husband doesn't care, but my family and friends think it's a good idea. I have one friend that's delaying them, but after hearing a speech by Dr. Sears she will later on.

So tell me why Dr. Sears would be bad to follow on vaccinations. I think he said it would be better for society but thinks delaying it should be better as well as choosing what type of shot it given is a good idea.

ETA: I meant to post this in the "I'm not Vaccinating" thread, sorry.

If it is a doctor's opinion you are looking for, there are quite a few who are very outspoken about the dangers of vaccination. Many of these doctors believe vaccines are never the right choice. These doctors don't get the media coverage that a Dr. Sears does. Here is one doctor's website that is loaded with information.

His dvd's are the best vaccine information I have come across in 15 years of researching this.

it's ok not to be sure...that is what will make you want to reseach and learn more.

I would continue to delay until you have had the chance to throughly examine this issue from all angles....Dr. Sears is not a favorite of mine. At the end of the day he is very provax. What I do like is the fact that he resoects parenta choice.

As Scattershoot said..if it is a doc' point of view that you seek what is different than the mainstream, there are many.
check out this site....All of the info on it is fro medical professionals who oppose vaccination in genral or at least think that the current schedule is overkill and urge caution.

www.medicalvoices.org.
they have a webinar series that is free and I have learned an immense amount of inof from listening to these.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Do you have access to the latest issue of Mothering? There's a very good article in that. There's a time and place for certain vaxes, but they are definitely overused in this country. If you do decide to vax at all, carefully consider each individual vax instead of just going all or nothing.

I read the one with the vax debate and that was what got me thinking of not doing any.

My viewpoint is that I have to have a reason TO vaccinate. I personally haven't yet found any reasons good enough to subject my child to the risk. Maybe you will, it's a personal decision. Keep reading about vaccines AND the diseases they are supposed to prevent. I think that knowing about the diseases themselves is what really solidified my belief in a non-vaccinating lifestyle.
