Our baby boy is here!

Introducing Noam Lee born this morning, October 1st at 10 am.
9 lbs even (no idea how I grew a baby that big even at 5 days over my EDD!)
21 and 1/2 inches long

Had my homebirth. . .intense, but uncomplicated. Noam was born healthy and alert after about 7 hours of early labor, 8 hours of active and very painful back labor and 26 min. of pushing (my god, I had no idea how much pushing was going to hurt! so I tried to get it over with quickly). No stitches, only a few skid marks. But I must say I am really glad I made those PP frozen pads, cuz I am really swollen and sore and they feel sooooo good. My MW and her apprentice, and my doula and my DH were the best support team I could have hoped for!

He latched on well right after birth, but has been really sleepy since about 2 hours post-birth and I haven't gotten him to BF again, but our awesome doula will be checking in on us tomorrow.

I will post a longer birth story when I have time. We are dazed and amazed by our beautiful little boy! Hard to believe how quickly you can go from miserably pregnant to blissfully staring at a newborn.

congrats! i know what you mean about pushing, and i only had to push for a couple of minutes. personally i waited for spontaneous pushing (both of my births). the first time i didn't feel the ring of fire, but this time i did... and my babies were 6 pounders, not 9!

congrats again!! great job!

kismet i felt the EXACT same way about the pushing phase. it kicked my ass. was nothing like i expected. i never had any strong urge to push, and it certainly did not feel good or a relief.

CONGRATS!! i can't believe you had a 9lber too!!!!!!!
wahoooooooo! YOU GO GIRL!

Congrats! Although my labor was only 6 extemely intense hours, I had to push for a whole hour because of the arm being caught. That plus a 3rd degree tear and I can say I thought my body was being ripped open.
