Mamas with older children planning on giving birth in a hospital...

I've been hearing more and more reports of hospitals changing their policies to not allow children as visitors due to flu concerns. We're still trying to decide where I'll be giving birth-at home or in a hospital-but if my children wouldn't be allowed to be present for the birth, or even visit, I think that would be a deal breaker for me.

I'm interested in hearing others thoughts and feelings on this. Would a policy like this at the hospital you're planning on giving birth in change your plans?

I have no other choice, so no. It will be a nightmare (well, of the everyday kind of nightmare, not a real one ) My parents live 200 miles away, so it's going to be very awkward.

Go Home Early

If our kids couldn't visit the hospital I think I'd just be inclined to leave earlier. I do know people who went home really quickly after their delivery (maybe 8 or 12 hours).

I also think that DH would just sneak our kids in if he had to.
