Can I "move" to a new city to birth in a different hospital?

I live in a major metropolitan area. Unfortunately the hospitals that my insurance cover in my city are all very natural birth unfriendly. There is a great hospital, very natural birth friendly, in a neighboring city. My insurance company will not let me birth there because I don't live in that city Is it possible to "move" to that city during my pregnancy so I can birth in that hospital? By move, I mean rent a mail box at a Mail Boxes Etc or similar place so that I actually have a street address in that city? Is there anyway the insurance company could find out

My first thought is to be very careful because if they figure it out, it might be considered insurance fraud.

Ya I would be afraid of fraud charges. What if you just happened to be in thst city when you went into labor? Surely the ins co couldn't tell you to drive home.

Is this something you've heard, something you've read, or something you've specifically been told by your insurance company? It just sounds incredibly odd. I have had both private insurance and medicaid, and neither ever had any kind of policy like that. As a matter of fact, I've never even given birth in the city I've lived in....actually, now that I'm thinking about it,...not even the county I've lived in. If you haven't already, you should call and speak to someone at your ins. company who can explain the policy, you might be able to either get an exception, or clarification...it just seriously doesn't make sense. I've never head of anything like this.

I wouldn't create a paper trail, but I would happen to be shopping in that area when my labor starts.
