Diaper Pins...

Is there a difference between brands? What's the best? I was given 2 pkgs of pins so i didn't bother buying any, but if all pins are this awful, nobody would use them. They require so much force to get through my Little Beetles that I'm truly afraid of hurting the baby. Point me in the right direction to find some pin love, please!

My favorites are the Dritz diaper pins they sell at Hancock Fabrics.

I like Dritz pins too. I get them from fabric stores, or find online CD shops with free shipping. Don't buy the ones from Babys R Us, they're terrible!

tinytush.com sells really nice pins.

I just bought a (cheepo no name) package at the grocery that were terrible! No sharp tips or bent tips on all of the pins.

I've liked Gerber ones, but I keep them stuck in a bar of soap to make them easier to get through the fabric. Another tip on that note, run the pin through your hair a few times (carefully!) if you have one that isn't going in easily. The oils from your hair will help lubricate the pin.

I love the metal headed Dritz pins, although I can't use them because my husband forced them all open and essentially made the locking top not lock. I've tried the dritz pins from the fabric store (but all I could find were the plastic headed ones) and they seemed much thinner and bendier and I personally don't like them.

I've never tried any others.

Don't want to jack this thread, but I am just wondering what kind of soap bar to keep pins in. Does it matter brand? Cheapest kind work?

I also like the gebers better than the Dritz especially the older locking ones. My DD learned how to open the locking ones but never the gerber ad both slide through fabric just fine. I also used soap just whatever we had I tink it was an ivory bar for the longest time.

any kind works fine...we've been using the same one for more than two years...i covered it with fabric (thumbtacked in on the underside of the soap) so it wouldn't flake.

Thanks... good idea with the fabric! I thought how silly of me to ask, but I don't own bar soap (the concept disgusts me, LOL) and I would buy it special for the pins so thought I should ask.

I like Dritz just fine, as long I don't try to force them through too many layers. I buy them when Joann's has they're b1g1 on notions sale(I think they're doing that again this month) I can't find Gerber ones anywhere here.

I never bothered to take the paper off my bar of soap it was full of holes but never flaked.

Gerber or Dritz worked fine for us.
