Allergen Free School Birthday Treat

I wasn't sure where to post this but I have a question.

My dd's preschool class has some kids with food allergies. There is a child on a GFCF diet, a child with celiac, a child who can't have dairy, and one with a peanut allergy.

I want to send in a treat that all can enjoy and since there are less than 12 kids in the class, I can spend a bit more $ on it than if they were a bigger class. I found gluten, casein, soy, dairy, and nut-free cupcakes. They are spendy for a dozen but I can swing it for this occassion

My question is how do i let the other parents know that the cupcakes are OK for their kids? If it my dd with the allergy, I'd be nervous about letting her have food from someone else.

I think the best bet is to email the cupcake link to the teacher and ask her to pass it along. I'll also send the cupcakes into the class in their original packaging.

So, if a parent in your child's class did something like I'm suggesting, would you be OK with letting him/her eat the treat?

PS- has anyone tried these cupcakes? http://www.gfmeals.com/White-Frosted...3340002410.htm

Speaking as a parent of someone with a bunch of food issues, I'd say read me the ingredients. If they were all okay, I'd thank you profusely for letting my child participate in the treat, and say it was okay. Especially if they were still in the original packaging. If it was someone baking something and just said they're "okay" and couldn't remember all the ingredients, I'd say no way would I risk it.

I think that is a great plan- email the link and send the packaging. I wouldn't really want someone w/ a contaminated kitchen trying to cook for me or my kids unless I knew them.

you could also print off a couple copies of the ingredient listing from the site, noting the website and product on it for those parents who may not have internet access.

I only trust it if I can read the ingredient list, or it is another mom that I know VERY well and I can be sure they are telling me the ingredients from a home-baked item.

Popsicles are a wonderful allergy free treat too!
