Does Nature's Miracle really work??

My neighbor's cat is always hanging around my house. Yesterday, DH left my side van door open. It was raining so I just used the remote to shut the side door. You can probably see where this is heading...

Anyway, I go out this morning and see the cat sitting on the driver's seat of my van after being trapped in there all night and peeing on the passenger seat. There was a pillow on it that soaked up some of the stink.

I got some Nature's Miracle and sprayed that on the seat. But it still smells rank to me. Does it need more time to work? It is cool here today so it's not totally dry yet.

Anything else I can try?? I've got DH looking for new seats online in case the smell won't come out. I sure hope he has learned his lesson about leaving the van door open too!

Just spraying it on won't work. The instructions say to really saturate the area. Then you have to let it dry- can you run a fan out there? I can't recall all the directions from it (it's been a while!) but I know that if you don't follow them exactly, your results won't be as good.

Thanks. I went and sprayed more on and really saturated it. I hope it works. At least it seems to be confined to the one seat, it could have been a lot worse.

It's supposed to be partly sunny and breezy tomorrow so I'll leave the windows open. I can't really leave the doors open or the cat would probably be back in it.

I am just so irritated with my neighbor for letting her cat roam around 24/7. Why was he out to get trapped in my van in the first place?? But that's a whole other issue!

As the other person said - totally saturate it. Try moving your van so the front seat is in the sun so it can dry better.

I've got it in the sun now plus turned the vents on high and hot while driving to and from church. As of now, I can only smell it when I sniff right on the seat, so maybe there's hope. I'm just afraid what it will smell like next summer but I guess I can worry about it then. I'll retreat it a few times over the winter and hope for the best.

Try saturating it again and see what happens. It can take a lot of NM to work if there was a lot of pee to begin with but it's always worked for me in the end if I used enough of it. I went through a lot when my puppy was house training.

Yep. Take the lid off and POUR the NM over the entire area. It works - well! But you have to saturate every bit of the urine. As long as you soak the entire spot, the smell will be totally gone once it is completely dry.

if the nm doesn't work, try clear vinegar with a little bit of water-and saturate it. The vinegar smell will go away in a couple of days-I've found it's better than NM in neutralizing tough cat urine odor.

Yep, I 2nd the vineger. Nothing removes cat reek like vinegar.
