Getting started with newborn, More questions

I still have lots of questions, hopefully someone can help me out. I treasure all the knowledge I have gained recently in the Diapering forum. Here is my current stash and questions....
What do I need to fill in to round out my stash? Any of my current 25 fitteds going to work for a newborn? I am still considering Kissaluvs sz 0 Fitteds, Thirsties Fab Fitteds, or Swaddlebees newborn fitteds or GMD newborn/small prefolds. Fitteds or prefolds for newborn? Both? Pins or Snappis? Should I get some bigger prefolds too?
I have considered Thirsties DuoWrap, Blueberry Coveralls, Aristocrat, or fleece covers as well. Whats the best one/two size cover? How is Thirsties aplix/velcro quality? How many more covers do I need? Any recommendations for great wool or fleece? What is best for over night? What are the recommendations for doublers and liners (material or brand)?
NOTE: In reference to recommendations, I strongly prefer snaps!!

Fitteds
7 MEOS cotton (8-35 lbs)
8 Cricketts cotton/hemp (up to 20 lbs)
6 BabyKicks OS cotton/hemp pocket dipes (7-40 lbs)
6 other fitteds (4 are OS/2 are M or L) (I have more fitteds too, maybe 4 more of M or L)
1 OS pocket (will be big for newborn)
1 M/L AIO (I have more gotta get them, maybe 4-5 more of various sizes)

Covers
2 Prorap Premie size 2-6 lbs
2 Prorap Newborn size 6-10 lbs
1 Prorap size small 9-14 lbs
6 Bummis SWW size small 8-15 lbs
2 MEAF size M/L 20-27 lbs

Doublers/Liners
5 ME Snap in Liners
8 Cricketts Snap in Liners included with dipes
10 BabyKicks Liners included with dipes
3 BabyKicks Hemparoo Doublers
4 Hemp or Microfiber Doublers (think I have more)
3 fleece liners (think I might have more)
14 cotton terry wash cloths and towels for doublers? or wipes?

Thanks so much!!

I love my polar babies fleece cover, but the one i have is velcro/aplix. i have another with snaps- stacinator maybe- but the fleece isnt as thick so i stick some fleece liners in there too.
i'd recommend wool or fleece at night over something with pul, but my lo is prone to rashes in pul covers.
congrats on your xmas baby!

What kind of quality is the velcro?

random diaper babbling

The only fitteds I have experience with on your list are the cricketts and I was surprised because I found they didn't fit my baby very well. Hes four months now and they are starting to fit better, but I wouldnt recommend them for a newborn (we did get the small size). For my newborn, we used a mix of prefolds and kissaluvs 0's, and I love the kissaluvs.. despite being a newborn size, they were stretchy enough to fit for the first 3 months. And I have a big baby. I had bought a bunch of newborn prefolds which we were only able to use to for a short amount of time.. so I have a bunch of orange edged prefolds from green mountain diapers that I now use as cleaning rags. I would recommend not investing in too many newborn sizes of anything. usually you can make smalls work for longer. I found that bumgenius bamboo fitteds are about the same price as thirsties fab fitteds, only they seem to be better quality. They run small and I would say that you could skip the newborn size of those easily. I already have to have my four month old 16 pound baby wearing the larges! I also love thirsties fab fitteds, they run slightly larger and seem to be pretty adjustable. Oh right and I love snappis. we bought some pins just in case we wanted to try them, but we have never even taken them out of their package, the snappis work like a dream. We bought four and I'd say thats more than enough. I have found that I dislike prefolds in general. Sure they are absorbent, but I just feel like they are too much trouble, I can never get the fold just right, or they always seem to fit funny. So if I could do things over, I would just go with thirsties fab fitteds (or the bum genius bamboo fitteds despite their lack of fun colors) and thirsties covers. I. love. thirsties. Both the duo wraps and the regular seem so adjustable. You probably dont even need the newborn size in covers, the small isn't much larger than the newborn, and the dip in the newborns covers for umbilical cord is practically non-existent anyway. I have tried a few different covers and thirsties is the best, hands down. the velcro seems to be quite good quality, I haven't noticed any wearing at least. and never ever had a leak. but you say you have six small covers? I've never had that many of one size, and do fine.
I discovered that no matter how I wash my pockets, they will always leak for me, and also that I hate stuffing them. so I sold most of my pockets.
I thought I would prefer snaps too, but after I got to using them, I always go for the velcro first if I can help it. Its just more adjustable and faster to put on, and maybe I'm a wimp, but it takes some strength to squeeze together some of those tougher snaps sometimes, lol. Well in any case, it takes longer to get them to snap.

at night, we dont do anything different. I had bought a dancing bears fleece night time soaker because they come highly recommended, but found that it really doesn't make a difference and my husband thinks it looks funny and wont use it. lol. we just use fitted and thirsties covers like during the day, only we wait longer to change him because we don't want to wake him at night just to change his diaper. He's soaked in the morning, but it stays in the diaper. We never use doublers so I don't know about that part.

at diaper pin.com there is a great list of reviews for all the different cloth diapering categories, I recommend you go there and check out the top favorites for the things you are looking for.

If you are going to be using cloth wipes, you are going to want more than 14 by far though. I use a mix of different wipes. the most luxurious and my favorite for cloth wipes are.. thirsties fab wipes of course. lol. They are big, thick, soft and pretty, but not too thick. I also have a ton of baby washcloths that I use because those are so cheap, which are thin but get the job done.

I guess if I were you I would get a few more small fitteds, and then focus more on upping your medium and large stash, particularly medium. They grow fast.
The biggest thing I learned is to not invest too much into the infant stage for anything. My baby couldnt even fit into most of the clothes I had bought for him and he outgrew his infant prefolds pretty much before he even left the womb. The ultrasound predicted an 8 pound baby, but he ended up being nearly 10 pounds. you just never know. And another random tip.. buy your clothes big! not only do they shrink, but they are designed for super trim disposables and will be too small for a cloth diapered baby. At least buy one size larger than you think you need. For instance, my four month old wears 9-12 month size onesies.

well.. I hope my babbling helped a little! Best of luck!
