Toddler got gluten-ed -- help!

Thread Starter
We recently figured out that my toddler and husband are gluten intolerant and we have eliminated it in our home (going on 3 weeks-ish), but he got a hold of some cheez-it's at a friends house yesterday. He ate a small handful of them (shoveled them in is more like it, lol) before I was able to get to him from across the room and today he is absolutely miserable.

He isn't verbal enough to tell me exactly what's bothering him, he's just been super irritable and having screaming and crying episodes all day long.

Is there anything I can do to help this pass sooner?

Bentonite clay but I don't know the dosage for that age. It helped my DS keep to a one-night reaction instead of his usual 3-night reaction.

Other people have had luck with Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbate)

Clay, we use Pascalite, about 1/4 t mixed in water. Magnesium and/or SA to bowel tolerance. Epsom salt & baking soda baths. I have also heard Alka-Seltzer Gold (only Gold) to help with die-off and I would guess that would probably help too in an emergency glutened situation as I think it helps by restoring the body's ph balance.

How's he doing? I doubt you can get him to drink it but tonic water with quinine in it can really help stop a gluten reaction. I've used several times in the past (I add fresh lime juice to it and add ice, think gin and tonic minus the gin) with good success.
