Does any body have 3IG byrne knit up that they'd be willing to post a pic of???

I getting up my nerve to knit my first ever longies for my new little man due in Jan, and am strongly considering this colorway.... but I'd love to see some pics first!

anybody?

oh, and for those who have experience knitting longies from 3IG, would you suggest the Lindon Merino or BFL or ???

thanks!

I will try to come back to post a pic of mine. Of course you know they won't be the same and you may have to fiddle with your stitch count to avoid pooling. But they are beautiful! I did mine in BFL which I love for its sheen. I also knit some out of galenas merino and that is wonderfully soft as well.

Oh a picture would be so great! thanks!

Okay, so could anybody explain how I would go about changing my stitch count to avoid pooling.

I would say I'm an advanced beginner to low intermediate level knitter.... but this would be new to me. Probably easier than it sounds (or at least I hope!).

thanks!

Galenas is lovely for newborns, since it is so soft, but it felts very well, and I wouldn't use it for an older babe.
Lindon is wonderful - thick and soft but very sturdy. It would make wonderful soakers.
(But no Byrne, sorry!)

Don't change your stitch count to avoid pooling. Wind the yarn into two balls, roughly equal-sized and knit stripes instead, changing the yarn every 2 rows until you get to the legs. (I like pooled waistbands. YMMV.)

Basically, the circumference of a skein of handpainted yarn is roughly the same as the amount of yarn needed to knit a single row to go round a baby, particularly a newborn, and so newborn longies get pesky pooling- which vanish when you get to the legs, because legs are smaller than skeins of yarn.
The solution is to buy only from people with really big skein-winders, but that's not terribly practical- or from people with small skein-winders.
