Hi!
I'm momma of an amazing Sweet Pea and wife to his amazing Daddy.
I'm so glad to find this forum, because I live in an area where my parenting style is very different from the norm.
In addition, my baby was born at 28 weeks due to my developing severe preeclampsia - he is now healthy and happy, but we've got some emotional healing to do. We were planning on having a home birth, and I still - a year later! - acutely mourn its loss.
It can feel very isolated here, so I'm excited to get to talk to other mommas who have been through the same type of thing, and whose babies are also called spoiled because they are worn rather than put into shopping carts.
So, I'm really glad to be here!

there is a nice birth healing forum here. Perhaps connecting with others who have experienced similar will help?

It's also rough because DH and I are theatre people - he's a director, I'm an actor - and my specialty academically has been evolutionary biology. Now we live in a place with no theaters in sight (except for the one at the university where my husband works), and where people "don't believe in evolution." Sigh. It's nice, though, to have lovely woods all around - great places for walks. It's so important to me that Sweet Pea get as much time in nature as possible!
