Reintroducing/trials while nursing

DS is 2.5 and still nursing. How do we go about trials? Should I eat it on the same days he does? Or should I eat it first and see if there is a reaction via breast milk and if not then give it to him at some point later?

Honestly, I wait until a trial has been passed (two weeks at least) before adding the foods to my diet. That way, if there's a reaction, it's not in my milk. And, IMO, it's more difficult to tell whether there's a reaction via milk vs. a direct introduction, especially when children are getting older and nursing less (as a 2 1/2 year old does).

DD1 had failed introductions where she would vomit and vomit -- I would have felt terrible if her comfort (nursing) also had the allergen in it.

I used to have DS and I both eat it, but this time I'm trialing dairy with just him first. Because most of his reactions are based on his digestion not being great, I suspect he's more likely to react if he eats it than if I do - but this way I'm not potentially confusing the issue by eating it myself as well.
