bleeding in early pregnancy ????

I am due June 3rd and so far, this pregnancy has been really weird for me. It all started when I had an early "period" at 8 DPO. When I noticed that my temperatures weren't dropping, I took a HPT and got a BFP. I was shocked!!!
I know that it's possible to have implantation bleeding, but can it really last 6 days??? (4 days of red bleeding and 2 days of spotting). What else could this be?
I am now at 24 DPO and I have been spotting for 3 days (brown blood). I keep taking pregnancy tests because I am worried and they are always positive.
During my last pregnancy, I never saw one drop of blood so this is unsusual to me.

Has anyone ever experience this kind of situation in early pregnancy? Could it be related to breastfeeding?

Have you considered calling your Dr.? It could be completely normal, but a scan or beta would probably give you some peace of mind.

I called my doctor to make an appointment and forgot to mention the 6 days of bleeding. My appointment is on october 27th. Maybe I should call back and see if I can get an earlier appointment...

I'd call back and mention the bleeding. I have a friend due a week before me (I'm due June 3rd too) and she's been going through this. She's already had one u/s and is having another today. She had a few days of bleeding, then a few more of brown spotting, but the doctors and techs say everything looks good and it just happens in some pregnancies.

I hope you can get in earlier and get some reassurance.

I don't have any experience with it but I do know that it is normal for a lot of mamas. definately let us know what the OB says.

I think bleeding like that can be normal (you always hear about those women who never knew they were pregnant when they kept getting periods), but I would definitely call and make an earlier appointment. They may even see you right away. If nothing else, peace of mind for you!

popping in from march to say that this exact thing happened to me

what i thought was AF came early- at 10dpo (i usually get it at 14dpo), and it was a total normal period, lasted for a week and then was spotty for a few days. i wasnt temping and really thought that was AF. i even had some mid-"cycle" spotting.
the next month i missed my period, took a HPT and it was instantly positive. my first ultrasound showed me to be 4 weeks further along than i thought.

oh and i am also breastfeeding.

so it sounds like a pretty similar situation.

i am just glad that i didnt know i was pregnant because the bleeding/spotting would have freaked me out too. but i am 16 weeks now, and everything is just fine, so id say dont worry

Thanks so much for all the responses.
Amandamanda, Thanks for your story. It makes me feel a lot better.
I still haven't called my OB. The bleeding has stopped and I'm starting to feel more and more pregnancy symptoms so I think it's a good sign. If I had abdominal pain, I would make an appointment right away, but now, I just feel pregnant so I'm becoming less worried about it.
Thanks for the support. I will update if anything else comes up.

I was actually just going to post something similar. I started bleeding last night a bit. It is fairly light and dark brown in color so I am not too concerned but it did scare me.

I called my doctor and was assured that it was totally normal. Especially for me since I am also using progesterone suppositories and those can cause vaginal bleeding.

I also was spotting for the past 8 or 9 days. I am 6 weeks today, and the spotting is pretty much gone. I noticed it was heavier when I was stressed out or upset. Even just leaving the house and driving long periods of time made it worse. I've been resting as much as possible, and it seems to be helping a lot. I also was told to drink tea made with Wild Yam, to help with the progesterone production, and that also may be making the difference, as I've been drinking it for three days now. It doesn't good at all, but I trust that it's helping.
Going to see my naturopath in the morning, taking a test, so all will be revealed as far as levels and what they should be.
Yay!
