She had me when she was 38, and I'm 29 now, so for 1980, that was considered pretty late for having children (I was also her 4th child). She "gets it" unlike a lot of women her age, and it just makes me so happy that she'll be more involved now
Liz, I'm sorry your mom doesn't like to talk about it- especially because I know how much you need the support right now . And though I know it's not the same- you have a ton of us here to talk to and be able to get it all out. And you better not stay away Have a wonderful time in NY- I'll be jealous that you're enjoying the cool weather while I'm stuck in the 90 degree heat for my 5k tomorrow
Nanette- I totally appreciate all of my BSL's here!!! I really think I would have lost it Looooong ago if I hadnt found you! My mom is wonderful in every other way, so I'm not too broken up about it, but well, ya know...

on another note, i thought that I was ready for wintery weather, and we got a real cold snap here last week- i was sick of being cold within 2 days.

so, i'd be happy with some warm weather, as long as I had a beach-ready body to go with it- which I dont.... so, maybe these big sweaters are just what I need!

Well, I am pretty sure that's about what moose around here eat this time of year, so it probably tastes about the same as I expected then.. (sigh)..

I TOLD dp that I wanted to try it.. time for me to pony up to the "bar" I guess.

It's almost slimy too, so the taste sticks to your throat and teeth. You know...just like wet moose poop

Hi Ladies....

Still lurking... as long as you don't mind me hanging around some... I WILL!

I don't have time to really post, since I'm at work and surfing the Net is really frowned upon lately... BUT...

Tear - I was only taking 25 mg of zinc. I read on-line that they recommend 30 mg... but I could only find 50 mg tablets that I broke in half. So your prenatals may be enough. I wasn't on a prenatal or a regular multivit actually... BAD ME (I took it for the first 6 or 7 months of TTC, but then just got lazy)! If you do buy the acidophilus... get a probiotic version. I found mine at Wegmans. I could tell you the brand if you want.

Thank you YYYM for the well-wishes! I hope that DH continues to be ambivalent about trying to find a non-irritating condom. It sounds unlikely that you will find one at this point!

AFM - I almost puked at lunch today. Not complaining... really I could do this instead...

So... my cousin I am always complaining about had her twins today.

Their names were not exactly the most well-thought-out if you ask me... its as though she never thought that they have to GROW UP with these names. School is going to be rough for them

Just went and got some wheat grass juice at Whole Foods shiver and picked every other herb I have been reading about. I can't afford this much longer. Something's gotta give.

Ladies, I don't have time to catch up with each of you personally. I just wanted to check in.

I am an emotional mess with this af. It is heavy, and I am more emotional than usual. I hurt a disc in my back and am having trouble practicing for my hafla next Tuesday. DH also has someone over here painting so I don't feel comfortable practicing , PLUS the granddaughter is spending the weekend with us and I won't be able to spend time with her because all of my preparatory stuff for dancing. This is a big deal for me, not only what it will mean, but the fact that is my first performance in a year!!!

I feel like someone pulled the rug out from under me and all of my plans. I am doing mini readings tonight at a costume gala, and don't want to. I don't feel confident or physically good. I was sick to my tummy all day yesterday (I think from af)

I am

Ohh Beloved I'm sending the biggest over to you. As if AF isn't enough, she's got to bring all of those emotions out and make you feel like you've lost control over everything. Things will begin to look up soon, I just KNOW it. And I really think your performance is going to make you feel heaps better. It really is a big accomplishment. First performance in year is a heap big thing! How old is your granddaughter? I bet she would enjoy watching you practice and prep for it...

She is 4 she is a pistol, and is in the question asking phase (actually she is my step granddaughter, makes me feel old she is alot of fun though) I don't think I will got much practice in with her here, just her personality. I am worried about the performance because I want it to be good, and with my back (in my right hip) and the practice thing I feel like I might not be happy with my performance I may cancel it

It might not be a good idea to dance with my back so messed up, and my DD was exposed to swine flu She was eating off of the same spoon as her bff who now has it I am scared about that, and of course way over the top emotionally about it. I may be home taking care of her. I might feel better if I just called it and decided not to dance

Thanks for the

lol... You gave yourself away!!! I'd love to know the brand. And hooray for almost puking at lunch!!!

Nanette, I'm so glad you talked with your mom. DH and I did the same thing: we didn't want anyone to know we were TTC until we could surprise them with good news. Then we got pregnant and surprised them, then we lost it. I'm glad they know, because they're so good about not bringing it up all the time but I know I can bring it up whenever I want, and I have a silent cheering squad, too. My dad was unbelievably tender and supportive after the m/c, asking me how I was and showing concern for my health and happiness. Like you said, it was like I could almost find a blessing in it all.

LZP, yeah I have a nice relaxing weekend ahead of me. I didn't have students today so I wrote BOTH my observation lesson plans (8 pages each) today. I'm getting observed on Tuesday AND Wednesday. Now I don't have to write them tomorrow as I thought. But I just remembered tomorrow's gonna kind of suck. I have to fast for my thyroid, anemia, cholesterol, etc. bloodwork tomorrow morning, then I get to go to my cousin's baby shower in the afternoon. I almost forgot about it until just now. STUPID PREGNANT RELATIVES, LEAVE ME ALONE!!! (Carlyle excluded, of course, GET KNOCKED UP LADY!) Anyway, back to you, have fun in NY lady! I'm so over the cold weather already too. I'll boost you up anytime, girl, you're my TTC buddy. We share a lot in common y'know. :

Beloved, oh honey, I'm so sorry you're in pain, and having af, and not able to practice for your important dance. I'm sending you lots and lots and lots of warm healing vibes.

enigo, lol...you're gonna make me puke. But I'm laughing, too. I'm so impressed with your ability to use humor to get through this. Thank you for reminding me of the value of that.

yyym, I'm so glad to have you back! yayyyy!!!

ok...time to drink a beer. I haven't had one in a while, I EARNED IT! lol...tschuss! (lauren might get that one)

Hi ladies, it's been a while. I probably haven't posted since this thread was still the TTC 6 months deal. To reintroduce myself I'm 30 (almost 31!) and my DH just turned 30. We're TTC #1, and have been since Nov 08. I've been battling short cycles. I O like on CD 9-10, with EWCM starting on CD7. Total cycle length 23-26 days. I just started doing the Making Babies 3 month program. If you haven't read this book yet, I totally recommend it. It is not as detailed as I would like, but it does shed some light on "weird" chart patterns and what you can do to help them, as well as how to get the most out of ART. I'm following their advice for "Stuck" fertility types.

I am so to see all the BFPs and thread graduates, and hope to see a lot more!

I know, I'm trying to convince myself not to get excited 'cause it's likely just swine flu or something. But it would make sense to be pregs this month 'cause I opened a bottle of white wine at the beginning of the week (which Chris doesn't drink), so I've had to drink a lot...and of course have thrown all caution to the winds with regards to drinking and pregnancy. At least it's gone now...

And I did get tschuss after saying it out loud. Is THAT how it's spelled???

If you are pregnant drinking pre-bfp is not a problem.

I overindulged in that time period with my daughter and freaked out when i found out i was pregnant. my doctor reassured me none of the alcohol would touch her as long as I did not drink any more. The placenta does not function yet for a couple weeks still after your BFP... its sort of natures little safety net so the women who do not know they are pregnant and still drink do not pass it on to their babies, but by the time the placenta functions most (not all) women know they are pregnant.

Just confirmed my cousins twins are not identical.

Her bonehead mother STILL insists they are.

Ones blonde and ones dark brunette.... Not monozygotic for certain.

Bad side: well I guess my risk of twins IS higher.

lol...sorry, I have exclusive sister privileges. I was trying to nudge her to post her link. May I? but then we have to promise not to get Carlyle excited. That's our pact.

rhiandmoi, I was wondering where you were just yesterday! Welcome back!

One bottle of wine in ONE week!?!?! Hell, girl, I could handle that in one night back pre-bfp. The only thing I did really differently the BFP cycle was that I did not care about the wine at all and just drank it with dinner whenever I wanted to. Probably one or two glasses a night until I got to 12 or 13 dpo when I got my BFP and was like, WOO HOO!! I have actually red that red wine helps with implantation.
