So what subject/s everyone here studying? And what career do you hope to get once finished your studies?

(I thought there was a thread already here with a similar title, but I looked and can't find any, so, sorry in advance if that's the case and I would like to be linked to it if there is one.)

I am working on my M. of Ed. so I can be a secondary school science teacher. My undergraduate degree is in biology so I will probably teach high school biology. Once I graduate I will be able to teach grades 7-12 so although high school biology would be my ideal, I may end up teaching middle school science. Honestly I will be excited either way, I just hope that there are still job openings when I graduate, in my community there have been lots of cutting back of teaching positions so it makes me nervous.

I'm studying for my MA in Bioethics. I have a wonderful job as an assistant director for an IRB, but I want to get out of this business. Too much stress and not what my passion is. Next up will be a MSW so hopefully I can work at a hospital and be able to apply both these fields in case work.

I just found out today I was accepted at the college I applied to. YEA!! Right now I want to get my undergraduate degree in elementary and middle school education, and minor in psychology. I'm thinking I also want to get some experience in special ed, but my ultimate goal is to be a Waldorf teacher. I've already completed 1 year of Waldorf teacher training.

I just completed my last class last night for my teaching certificate, I just need to student teach. Once I get my teaching license (right now i have a sub certificate) I will be able to teach secondary business classes (highschool). In my previous career I was a stockbroker and spent about 12 years total in banking/finance.

Wow, lotta teachers-to-be on here! I am currently double-majoring in Spanish and Chinese and I want to go to grad school for public policy when I graduate in 1.5 years. I don't know *precisely* what I want to do save for something working with immigrant communities that will give me a chance to use my language skills. I'm planning on starting to study Arabic this summer, too! Can you tell that I a) love languages and b) am terrified of not getting a good job?!

I am studying biology and chemistry. I want to use my degree to do field research. I've been studying bats out in the field and would like to branch out to other animals.

I have an M.Ed. in early childhood education. Ideally the program I would get into for a PhD would be Public Health, but it may instead be Public Affairs. The point of the education is to be a university professor and researcher on family policy, birth practices and parent rights. I'd like to be a policy advisor for lawmakers and system administrators and/or maybe someday Executive Director of a non-profit. I've toyed around with becoming certified as midwife, doula and lactation consultant.

I have my B.A. in Sociology and am working toward my Masters in Public Administration with a focus in nonprofit management. My primary focus will be to grow the nonprofit I started a year ago (and of which I am director), and I could also see myself teaching online for a community college.

Good thread! I am not sure what I want to be when I grow up Right now I am working on a general studies associates that will transfer to the university to count for the first two years of undergrad. I am still very much undecided what I will do at that point - I change my mind on a daily basis.

Are you at NAU? My two cousins and two friends go there. The cousins are on campus (on is studying zoology and working in the Avian Cognition Lab). The friends are both going on-line. It's a great school!
