I really, really HATE solid food introductions

We just started DS on solid foods pretty recently. He seems to like bold flavors so I thought beets would be a good food to try. He has had it 2 times now, right in a row, and both nights he slept awful. He went down okay, but was a wake and fussy for 2+ hrs about 3 hrs after bed time. Plus he had a new eczema patch develop. He had a reaction to avocado about a month ago and since then he has had one patch on his right cheek. Now he has a new one below his chin too.

To make things more complicated we also tried parsnips for 2 days before the beets (and with the beets for a 3rd day since I didn't think he had an issue with them).

I really really HATE solid food introductions. This is where things started to go bad for my DD too. Anyone who has had a food allergy first babe, what did you do for solids introductions on consecutive kids? I am at a loss here. We have done banana and i think that is fine (though with the avocado issues I am wary). Sweet potato I am almost sure is good. I am maybe testing butternut squash this week.

My son is allergic to everything, and seems to always be reacting to something no matter what I do. (he ALWAYS has a face and body rash) He seems to do okay with winter squash and zucchini. The winter squash I used is a delicata squash from our garden, but you could probably get one at the store. I just don't always trust the jars...it seems safer to make it. He seems to do okay with carrots too and he's been eating some pureed broccoli and seems to be fine with that.

We do make our own baby food for various reasons, not hte least of which is cross contamination worries. I just baked the butternut squash yesterday and i have spagetti and acorn squash waiting to be cooked.

I just hate the stress of this stage. It almost makes me want to have him prick tested liek we ended up doing with my DD, just so I know if he has any of the big allergies.....
