How about intense pain?

It doesn't work.

Sensory nerves of the penis arrive from within and radiate outward. EMLA can numb the surface but can't block the pain of clamping, crushing, and amputation.

Whats that called? An underdeveloped wiring system in which the nerves are not insulated yet??? Mylen sheeth?

this is why the pain is not localized in one specific area.

Human Infants thrive on touch. A newborn's ENTIRE BODY responds touch. They're super hyper sensitive to touch. Likewise, pain.

Could this be why the babies who died after their circ's were bleeding through their nose, mouth and their ears?

Surely someone can explain this better than I. I know I'm getting somewhere tho...

I think that expression was supposed to be "licked by puppies."
Ticklish, but not abrasive.

From that article

Up to 96 percent of the babies in the United States and Canada receive no anesthesia when they are circumcised.

and another good one

I was just browsing http://Birth.com.Au and it says EMLA needs to be rubbed on the affected area for 60 to 90 minutes to block some of the pain. The problem is that the glans and inner foreskin are first exposed only DURING the procedure. The cream can't touch the inner mucosa until the tearing has begun. So basically babies they claim are getting anesthetic are suffering something that feels like fingernails being slowly torn from a finger BEFORE the cutting even starts.

Now suppose the doctor then applies EMLA. Does he/she wait 60 minutes for numbness to set in? No. The whole procedure takes only a few minutes if you ask any of the minimizers.

anestethic used in Australia

The situation in Australia is very different from the USA.

Here the infant circ rate is about 13% and most of those boys are a few weeks or months old, rather than a day or two as in the US.

Almost all infant circs here are done with anesthetic. I think mainly Penile block maybe plus EMLA. I have never heard of a sucrose pacifier on its own being used here.

Over 6 months a GA is supposed to be used, but I doubt thats the case.

In 1998 75% of US obs used no anesthetic at all. Thats outrageous.
