I love the book, my son loves the book, the trailer looks great, I'm psyched.

I'm excited and I don't even have children yet. But, every time I see a preview for it, I get teary-eyed. The hormones.

We're very excited! My boys love the book and the previews look so good. I can't wait to see it!

I am hesitantly excited. I love the book, so I am a bit worried that the movie will add too much to the story line and ruin it (I absolutely despised the adaption of The Polar Express, despised it!).

But the previews look great and I have enjoyed the Dave Eggers books I've read (Hearbreaking Work and What is the What, I think he has a newer book I haven't read yet).

I am going next Friday night with DS#2 - his class is going to the movie for a social outing. If it is as good as I hope, I'll go see it a second time with my other two DC.

I'm so so so excited! I get teary-eyed watching the trailers, and I can't blame pregnancy hormones for that! I can't wait!

I just love the ending of that book..."And it was still hot"... It's so touching. I can't wait to see how it will turn out.

I don't know. I haven't seen the trailer, though. But I'm a little nervous.

One of my favourite picture books when I was younger was "Jumanji". Never thought of it the same after the blasted movie came out. Subsequent movie adaptations of picture books always make me nervous!

My 4yo desperately wants to see this! He loves the book and as soon as he saw the trailers he begged me to take him . . . I'm waiting on the reviews, and if it doesn't seem too scary I'll take him to see it. I just hope it doesn't ruin the book for us.

I'm excited for it and I'm planning to see it, I just hope it does the book justice. Movie adaptations of books I love always make me nervous like that.

I love the book and was excited for the movie...until I watched the trailer and recognized James Gandolfini's voice. :-(

My six-year-old and I are going on a date to see this tomorrow. He's more excited than I am, but I'm excited enough.

For some reason I just loathe the way the mother delivers the line, "I could eat you up, I love you so." She somehow manages to slur it together quickly with a throaty, emotionless voice, it just seems out of character with how I pictured the mother in this story. I know it's silly, but it really makes me annoyed and not want to see the movie. I have liked the trailers before that, but lately they've been analyzing this book to death, so I'm just tired of it. This particular book was not a huge part of my childhood. I remember thinking it was cool when I was young, but we never actually owned a copy.

I'm super excited, and so is DS2, who has the book memorized. DH has a very odd work schedule, so we're waiting until we can go as a family, but I'm getting impatient! The previews give me goosebumps and I want to give the kid who plays Max a big hug. Spike Jonze fought long and hard with the production company to create an honest movie that wasn't just a piece of commercial fluff, and Maurice Sendak said that the movie really touched him and he's never seen anything like it.

If it makes a difference, I'm pretty sure it's a Wild Thing and not the mother. In the book, it's something like "But the Wild Things cried, 'Oh, please don't go! We'll eat you up, we love you so!' And Max said, 'No.'"

So, I only caught it in the trailer, but I thought it was sweet.

I confess that I am very sad about it today. It was a favourite read-aloud of ours. DS and DD are both teens, and are going to see it without me. DS is taking his girlfriend tonight. DD is going with her friends.

Mostly, I'm enjoying the teenage years, but some days, I miss my little ones. I need to find a substitute 6 y.o., lol!

I am so excited! I was going to try to see it tonight but I am sick. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see it soon. I've been waiting for months, since I first saw the trailer.

For those of you who have seen it, did you take your children? How old are they? What parts of the movie would be concerning for younger children?

DUDE, I just won tickets to see it at the local IMAX theatre which is on a screen 6 stories high! I've never been in there and rarely do they show anything that I might actually want to see. Plus, the three of us can go together. Woohoo!
