Nursing as a infant related to age of weaning?

I´m curious if how an infant nurses is related at all to how old they would be when they self-wean? For example, DD is a very, very vigorous nurser. Still nurses a lot during the night, comfort nurses, pretty much entirely resisting solids at 8.5 months, etc. Does this in any way indicate that she would self-wean at an older age? Or for the reverse would a child more interested in solids, who seperates out feeding times more and sleeps through the night wean earlier on?

Based on purely anecdotal evidence (sample size of 2!), I'd say it's certainly possible. DD1 was an avid nurser and developed interest in solids very late. She nursed to age 4.5 (daily without fail past age 3). DD2 was less "addicted" to nursing as a baby, took to solids pretty well starting around 6 months, and self-weaned at between 2.5 and 3 (no drama).

They both needed nursing to fall asleep for a long time, though, and both night-nursed while co-sleeping.

No clue. DS went for the solids at 6 months, more or less, and continued nursing to 5.
DD was slower on the solids, even when I used the edge-of-my-plate method and let her feed herself. She continued to 7.

I think family support and mom being willing to not push weaning have more influence. Mine could have stopped much sooner had I been so inclined. Would have had nothing to do with their enthusiasm for table foods.
