First dr appt :)

I took Gavin in to see the ped this morning for a check of his jaundice. The dr was very impressed, said Gavin looks great, he's already gaining weight, was 9-5 at discharge on Sunday and is up to 9-9 today two days later (and 3.5 days old). His jaundice is noticeable, but only down to his upper-chest/lower-shoulder area, so the dr didn't think it needed to be re-checked. His input/output is so good, the jaundice that's left will certainly flush out quickly.

We have an appt next week just for another weight check, then not again until his 2 month I'll keep him mostly on the typical well-baby schedule even though we aren't vaxing, well-baby checks have no copay and I like to watch weight gain (although I'm thinking that won't be a problem AT ALL with this kid!)

I'm glad to hear from someone else whose baby was UP in weight at the first appointment. Our guy was +4 oz (+5 when we first got there, but then he peed on the physician's assistant and lost an ounce ) at four days old too.

We had a 9lb baby got discharged with an 8lb 3oz baby. Next day went for a weight check and had an 8lb 6oz baby, that was on friday. By Monday, the next weight check, she had gained to 8lbs 12oz and then that Friday we went for another weight check and she was up to 9lb 3.75 oz! I figure at this rate I ought to have a 100lb 1 year old! All this babe does is eat.

Although she was a peanut for starters, that's how I feel about my little piglet, Charlotte. This kid consumes an amazing amount! I can't wait to see how big she is at her 2 month

I'm sure Gavin's jaundice will be fine if your milk is all in and he's getting ready of the mec. Charlotte had my least amount of jaundice of all 3, but she pooped in utero and never stopped. She is an incredible pooper! HA!

Sounds like you're going to have a big guy, hey? Was Ian a big baby? Is he big now? I find these things so interesting! (Maddie was always in the 95% for height and weight - has tapered off at 7 to be like 90/75...and then there's Grace who's always been like 10% kid - but I feel like she's growing like crazy! Funny how these things happen.)
