gDiapers

Has anyone tried these? A mama locally is selling some of the covers on Craigslist for a good price. Do they fit over most fitteds? Have you tried the gDiapers washable inserts? Or would pocket diaper inserts work well in them?

Never tried a pocket diaper insert in them but I think they'd work fine. If they're a good price, I'd snatch em up- otherwise, you might want to stick with pockets. Some people have a problem with gdiapers working for them. I myself have had a problem with them leaking but used them anyway for short term bits. I no longer use them, however because I just didn't find it worth it for me.

I'm trying these out myself, intending to add them to my CD rotation. A few things...

First, the gDiapers won't work as covers over fitteds. The way the gDiaper works is just too different. The waterproof liner inside only covers from front to back, not around the hips/thighs at the side. If you tried using it as a traditional cover, you'd more than likely have major wicking and flooding leaks.

Second, I haven't tried the gCloth inserts, I've just been using my old-fashioned diaper gauze flats in them, folded to fit. I have to say, used like this, they're awesome. I love them for general daytime wear. And actually, I'm starting the process of making some recycled materials inserts for naps/nighttime/heavy wetting times. I'd guess that as long as they were the right size and absorbency, your typical pocket inserts would be just as good as the gCloth.

Third...I only tried one of the flushable liners in my starter kit. I didn't like it much. My boy peed once, and it wasn't a tiny pee, but barely half the liner was wet and bunched up. The other half was bone dry. I tossed the whole liner and put the boy back in cloth. Considering the liners cost more per each than most if not all sposies, I'd rather use them only when I absolutely have to.

It's harder to find used gDiapers on Craigslist in my area, but if I found a decent deal, I'd be snapping them up before the seller could blink. Just my opinion, but I really do like them that much.
