What's the difference between h1n1 and seasonal flu vaccine?

I'm not planning on getting either, but I was wondering what the actual difference is besides the fact that they are different strains. Seems like many are saying that the swine flu vax is made in exactly the same way as the seasonal flu vax, yet we also see a lot of concern about it's safety. I'm not looking for evidence against or info on why not to get the seasonal flu vax, just wondering if there is any merit to the arguments that the H1N1 vax is more dangerous.

So what's the difference? What does the H1N1 shot have in it that the seasonal flu shot does not?

They are the same, made the same way- just different antigen. I think Dr sears talks about this in his latest vaccine blog- you can check it out on his site.

The antigen is different and that changes everything IMO....you cannot assume something is safe because it is similar. I think to assume that because everything else is the same except for the antigen that that makes it safe before any trials are completed is foolish.

Personally I don't think any flu vax is "safe" but that is besides the point
