yep exact story here. I was told that legally it has to be a person other then the person birthing. If no one was it the home and nly your 4yo was there what would they do then?

Then I would really have some explaining to do! I bet they would have put his name down anyway! Eh, bureaucracy is 90% lunacy...if the peg doesn't fit in the hole, make it fit!

I was told that too in the office, and I just shrugged & said, well, it was me. They just looked at me for a long time & then went ahead & used my name.

I'm my own attendant

I'm in UT, and I am listed as the attendant. I was very insistent and upset that they were so demeaning as to ask who caught and told them in no uncertain terms it was me/the water because I was the first person to touch my baby. So, my name is on his BC as self attending. That makes me very happy. I think I've posted this before.
