Yankee and Steelers Halloween costumes????

Please help me out here if you can.

My 9 year old wants to be a NY Yankees player for halloween and his 7 yo brother wants to be a Pittsburg Steeler.

I've looked online for both and found nothing for kids for less than $50 each.

Any ideas about how to pull either of these off for a lot less?

I have a new baby due momentarily (I hope!!!) and not much energy or creativity this particular halloween. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure about the Yankees one, but I'm from a Steelers household!

I would start off by hitting up a consignment shop if possible for a black jersey and white (or yellow) football pants, and a black helmet. Sew (or tape, or safety pin) yellow stripes around the jersey sleeves, and a yellow stripe down the sides of the white pants if you're feeling froggy. For the helmet, I'd print out the emblem, and glue it on

the right side only (since that's how it is and all). Hopefully, that way will be loads cheaper than buying the kit in the store!

You could buy a yankees player t-shirt I'm sure for $10-$15 (perhaps at walmart), add some baseball pants, a navy blue baseball cap and you've got a yankees player.

There might also be jersery type shirts in childrens sizes at Penny's or Macy's in the sports section. (Yankees fans here)
