co 45, knit 15 rows

Decrease (bottom of bowl):

Round 1: [K2 tog, knit 7] continue around

Round 2: [K2 tog, knit 6] continue around

Round 3: Knit

Round 4: [K2 tog, knit 5] continue around

Round 5: [K2 tog, knit 5] continue around (this helps flatten the bowl’s bottom

Round 6: [K2 tog, knit 4] continue around

Round 7: Knit

Round 8: [K2 tog, knit 3] continue around

Round 9: [K2 tog, knit 3] continue around

Round 10: [K2 tog, knit 2] continue around

Round 11: [K2 tog, knit 2] continue around

Round 12: [K2 tog, knit 1] continue around

Cut yarn and with needle thread through remaining stitches and pull tight.

OK SO....Rounds 1-12 Directions are for the FIRST 12 rows? What do I do for the remaining rows? I am new and confused. Thanks!

No, rounds 1-12 are just for the shaping at the bottom of the bowl. I think the directions are a little misleading. When it says, "co 45, knit 15 rows," I think it means "co 45, join (being careful not to twist ), knit 15 rounds." So, you cast on 45, then work in the round for 15 rounds. After that, you start rounds 1-12, then end by cutting your yarn and threading it through the remaining stitches and pulling tight.

I'm also not sure that the decreases are going to end evenly with the end of each round. My math skills aren't at their best at this time of night, but it seems like at the end of each round you'd end up with:

1: 40 sts
2: 35 sts
3: 35 sts
4: 30 sts

and then in round 5 you're trying to use a multiple of 7 again (k2tog, k5), which isn't going to go evenly into 30. You could probably just decide to either do as many as you can ((k2tog, k5) 4 times), then k2, or do the (k2tog, k5) 5 times and just go past the end of the round, then start the next round at that new point. Either way, though, it doesn't seem like you're going to end up with a multiple of 6 (to allow easily doing the (k2tog, k4) in round 6).

But, like I said, I could be totally screwing up the math right now.
