cover buying phobia help me!

I think I am all set on diapers for this baby but I need covers and I can't commit to buying anything. I keep looking and feeling undecided.

I have a decent amount of fitteds but I also plan to use prefolds this time which I didn't really use that much my 1st go round. What do people like?

Last time I had a good mix of wool, fleece, and PUL. The problem is all of it was gifted to me. I don't really like PUL covers but i can't really afford a lot wool and also I just look at everything and feel baffled as to if it actualy will work.

I prefer to buy used but at this point I seriously don't even have 1 cover making 60% of my diapers useless.

help!

I have used PUL and nylon pull ons. They both work. They keep clothes dry. I was shopping around last night, and I realized nickis diapers has free shipping on covers. I thought this was great. With ordering on line, I often try to buy a lot at once to save on shipping. Here you could get a few covers, try them out, and and then order more without that extra expense.
I have recently tried litewraps for my medium baby, and I really like them over a snappied prefold. They are cheap, which I love, but I also love that they are a more full fitting cover, meaning I am less likely to have diaper hanging out getting stuff wet. I also like that they have snaps at the legs but velcro at the waste to make them more adjustable. I think Proraps are fine too. Like I said, I like cheap stuff that works.

look for a few sample cover packages that way you can see what works best.

a sample package is a good idea. I have seen them for diapers but not covers. I'll go look fo that.

I was hesitant about pul covers at first wanting to stay more natural. But I now really like my pul covers. They work great, they wash well, I never have leaks or blow outs. And I like that the pul is soft & not crunchy or noisy like some of the cheaper plasticy covers.

I use mommy's touch one size covers & they have fit from newborn until now (8'9" at birth & 27" now).

I really like my LiteWraps too, especially how deep the leg gusset is. I also love my Blueberry one-size covers and the one duo-wrap I have. Prowraps were good when my daughter was a newborn, but I never cared for any of the bummis covers, I always had blow-outs as they don't have a leg gusset

have you considered repurposed wool? i wouldnt use the ones we have at night, but they are great for daytime use. also, you can sometimes get away with using less wool covers, making up a bit for the price. we do love our pul covers for outings, but we have been using wool more at home because it is kinder on her sensitive skin.
