Just wanted to announce the birth of our baby girl, Ellery Mae! Contractions (the first I have ever felt other than BH) started at 3 am Tuesday at about 10-12 minutes apart, and were about 6 minutes apart when DH go home from work around 8:30. By 9:30 we left for the hospital with contractions every 4-5 minutes. Got checked in triage and was 6 cm 100% effaced. Was still 6 cm 3 hours later, so finally agreed to have them rupture membranes to hopefully speed things along. It went fast after that...1 hour to complete and then about 1 hour of pushing and she was here. We are both doing well, and working on figuring out breastfeeding.
For other first timers, none of labor and delivery felt like what I expected, so you just have to go with it!!
