I finally got the courage to attempt to change their mind

I have a friend who I KNEW was going to circ. She is due in November. YEsterday we were on the phone and I said to her, Do you think I can send you some things on circumcision? "I have some interesting information that you may like to look at before you have it done to your baby."

She said yes! I was so happy. I told her a few things that I knew off the top of my head. Well this morning her fiance ims me on facebook. He is in the military and quite intimidating but a nice guy. Asks me what this is he hears about circumcision. I ask him if I can email him the information and he agrees as well. He tells me they have made up their minds pretty much, though.

I am just proud that she heard enough to mention it to her man and that he was interested enough to read my information.

it was really hard for me, but I did it. I emailed them a bunch of things, including links showing the actual procedure. I hope it changes their minds, but at least I tried if not.

Good for you! I was approached by a friend that I met after both our sons were born. She told me that she wished someone had given her information about circ before she had it done to her child. She was in tears knowing the damage her choice had done. Maybe your friend will read the info and be grateful that you helped keep her from making a damaging choice for her child. And if not, you will know that you did all that you could.

If all of us can change just one parent's mind, think of all the uncirc'd men the world will have when our kids are making the same choice.

I hope, by the time my baby is having babies, that circumcision isn't even a topic of discussion.
