I have a question about weaning...I decided to wean my third child when she was just over 1yr and because of some challenges we were having or maybe I was dealing with combined with a serious upper respitory infection and medications, we ended our breast feeding abruptly. We both survrived the weaning process and it's been about 7 months since. Anyway, I have a friend who recently had a biopsy which is probably why I'm more concerned about my breasts. I have always had lumpy breast and had my first Mamo in my early 30's. So, I noticed maybe a week ago that my left breast felt kind of unusual and made an appt with my Midwife to see if I need further evaluation. Of course my appt is 7 weeks away so I have lots of time to worry or rather stress over this. My question...
Odd as it may seem, I don't remember what my breasts felt like ( size, shape,texture ) after I weaned my other children. How much does the breast tissue change after weaning and has anyone had any experience with sore spots? The area that concerns me is on the size that I wear my daughter and it's also my sleeping side and it's my larger breast. When I examine them the spot in question feels simular to my right breast which I take some comfort in because what are the odds of having a serious issue in both...right? Anyway, I really do believe it's age ( 42 yrs ), gravity and many years of pregnancy, nursing and probably ill fitting bras and weight gain.
