Hi! I'm new here and am looking for other home daycare providers to share ideas and give support. Anybody out there?

Hello!

I don't have a home day care, but I am a mama/nanny. We go to their house several times a week. It is challenging at times, since my only child is used to my undivided attention.

I would love to exchange ideas on how to balance (fairly) the interests of my child and their children. Sometimes it is so hard to remain objective, I feel like I am either too hard on my own or I make excuses for him if he's having a bad day, kwim? Their youngest is an entire year older than my child so there are definitely some differences developmentally. I think its still a good experience for them overall, teaching patience and flexibility, but sometimes it gets a little rough.

How many kids do you have at your house? Have you always had a home daycare or have you ever gone to other people's houses to watch their kids?

Do you do crafts with your kids? I'm going to try to do more with my kids, they had a lot of fun yesterday making an "apple pie." Here's the link:

We are "off" today so we are going out to run errands.

Great! I was just coming to this forum looking for other in-home child caregivers
I am opening my own licenced in home day care center and not sure how much to charge How much do you charge for infants? Preschoolers?
I've worked with kids for 11 years (child care, nannying and elite preschool) and an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development. Oh and I will also be providing meals & snacks.

Hi! I'm a home day care provider. I began a year and a half ago only intending on taking one or two infants. The 'infants' are now 2 and I have a whole slew of others, mainly part timers from my neighborhood. I love it more than I thought I would! There's always kids underfoot, crafts going on, dancing toddlers and folks stopping by to drop one off or pick one up. Plus I get to spend every minute that my own kids are not in school with them.
It's kind of happily chaotic? If you know what I mean : )
I'm looking forward to reading about other providers to share ideas!
