Personally I would rather have all my fingernails pulled off one by one than give my child the flu shot!
They are ineffective in most populations and research has shown them to be totally ineffective in kids under 2 years old. I concentrate on maintaining a healthy immune system rather than relying on potentially dangerous and ineffective vaccines to "protect" my son!

on a side note, just because everyone you know is doing it, doesn't mean you should feel you have to!

This link will tell you what vitamins everyone should be taking to boost your immune system in case of the flu/swine flu.

This is an interesting video that shows recent research with the result that monkeys vaccinated with the hep b vaccine have significant delays compared to monkeys that did not. Hep B vaccine has thimerosol and so does the flu shot. This might give you a little reassurance for your decision.

There is a pediatric flu shot without thimerasol, just so you know.

I am planning to get all my kids vaxed for the regular flu, since there are chances of dual infections, swine and regular.

We're not doing it either. Never have, and have never had the flu. Same for dh and dd.

I have never had a flu shot, and my 2 yr old ds has never had a flu shot. I will never get flu shots for my family. I remember having the flu as a kid. A few days off school with a puke bucket, some gingerale and good ole Sally Jesse Raphael on tv, and I was as good as new .
