Help with ideas to go SUGAR/CARB FREE.....

Oh please help me. I am so overwhelmed atm. My dd and I have been suffering w/ yeast related issues for 3 years now. I need us to heal now. We went to see our GP who is also our ped. today and she prescribed us 20 days for Nyastatin and then the Acidopholus. I am looking in my fridge and we have so much fruit, flavored yogurt, juices.....and then in the cupboard, cereal, granola bars, dried fruit.......I thought I fed my children well. But now I am feeling so guilty that I have been feeding this yeast beast for three years and making her miserable........So what now? Do I just throw it all out? Only have meat and veggies in the house? How can I do this? I'm stuck....

It is possible! Don't despair! We went grain, bean, sugar and dairy free a couple of months ago and in many ways it's been easier than I thought.

Our meals center around meat, fish or eggs with vegetables as the side dishes (no potatoes!). We also eat nuts and coconut. For snacks we eat small amounts of fruit (which you may need to avoid right now). I also make cookies and muffins using almond flour and ice cream using coconut milk.

For breakfast we generally have eggs. For dinner we just have meat and veggies and then eat the left overs for lunch the next day. I find dinner easier under this system because I just need to pull several packages of meat out of my freezer every few days and we get our CSA delivery of veggies once a week. I do very little actual meal planning.

We did this to address my candida issues (10 years of candida) and to address my children's food sensitivities. My son does drink raw goat milk but I avoid all dairy products at this point.

there is an herb called gymnema sylvestre that I've used in the past and probably will again, since the sweet monster has come back! It can be made into a tea that essentially blocks all sweet taste. Makes sweeties taste really funny honestly, but non-sweet foods will taste the same. One cup, gargled and held in my mouth as long as I can tolerate will usually last most of the day...
not sure about any risks involved in it, but I think it's an ingredient in one of the celestial seasonings teas for weight loss......When I'm kicking sugar I get all of it out of the house, because I am a total addict and really have no power if it's here.
