Funny how I must have missed this in the news

Wow, even my "OMG-WHY-ON-EARTH-WOULD-YOU-NOT-GIVE-EVERYTHING-THEY-SAY-TO-GIVE?!?!?!?" parents would listen to something from CBS. Great link; thanks.

I am really pleased with this, but this line especially stood out for me:

"I’ve had to ask myself why I let my eldest of three daughters get an unproven vaccine against a few strains of a nonlethal virus that can be dealt with in more effective ways.”

That really sums up how I feel about so many vaccines in general.

I agree, this was the part that stood out for me too

Quote:
One of their teenage daughters became severely ill after her first dose of Gardasil. Dr. Ratner says she’d have been better off getting cervical cancer than the vaccination. “My daughter went from a varsity lacrosse player at Choate to a chronically ill, steroid-dependent patient with autoimmune myofasciitis.

Someone sent me another article on this same subject today. Dr. Harper spoke out against Gardisil during an address at the 4th International Public Conference on Vaccination. She was supposed to be promoting Gardisil.

Quote:
Dr. Harper, director of the Gynecologic Cancer Prevention Research Group at the University of Missouri, made these remarks during an address at the 4th International Public Conference on Vaccination which took place in Reston, Virginia on Oct. 2-4. Although her talk was intended to promote the vaccine, participants said they came away convinced the vaccine should not be received.

“I came away from the talk with the perception that the risk of adverse side effects is so much greater than the risk of cervical cancer, I couldn’t help but question why we need the vaccine at all,” said Joan Robinson, Assistant Editor at the Population Research Institute.

Thankyou for shareing that link i wasn't likeing the idea of giveing my daughters the vaccine before but now i'm sure i don't want them having it, i'l just make sure they has their routine smears and if they do become sexualy active young(which hopefully they won't) then i will make sure i let them know of the merits of safe sex before puberty hits and make sure they have regular check ups if they are having sex.

Had everyone seen where she retracted her story?

It would be interesting to hear what her entire quote was of her "retraction" I really didn't see anything that she said that was pro-vaccine.

I don't doubt that she's been under attack. I can imagine all of big pharma painting a big target on her. I'm sure they've made lots of threats against her. Maybe not of violence, but they have lots of power and against one doctor they could have a lot of influence to try to shut her up.
