Little Chuckle

My 96 year old grandmother was never able to nurse any of her 6 children and is not very knowledgeable on the whole thing. My daughter (21 months) was eating cereal and milk the other day and when she's done with the cereal she likes to drink the milk with her spoon to finish it. My nana says "She really loves this milk, maybe she won't like yours anymore..." Little chuckle. Don't see that happening any time soon!

Your nana is lucky I wasn't there--- I'd have told her that if she tried it herself, she'd give up regular cow's milk to have more mama's milk!

Ugh. I'm sorry. I hate when people say things like that. I'm sure she meant it in a totally harmless way, but it comes across as snarky, like "why are you breastfeeding" type thing...

snarky, yeah, I get that all the time..

"gee.... maybe she is weaning herself..." (because we spent a busy day with family on holidays, she refuses breast milk all day, and. oh, yeah. refuses the nap too.) ha ha. so maybe the toddler tells US mommies what to do, and no more naps? HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAA yeah, right, thanks a lot, Grandma. (My family, not your lovely 96 yr old family)

I really thought it was funny. She's just kind of clueless because she could never breastfeed her kids. :-)
