Can My DS Get Rubella Immunity from Me?

Just wondering before I test his titers. I had Rubella as a one year old in 1964 and had two does of MMR, the last one during the measles outbreak in 1989. DS is 4 and was breastfed until 3. Deciding to wait to see if and when Merck splits up the MMR or to just give him MMR. Thanks.

Natual immunity (core immunity) is passed on across the placenta to the fetus.

Thanks Gitti, I wonder how long the core immunity lasts? I'll have to look into that. I think I'm still going to have to get DS the MMR. I don't think we can hold out until I can find a single dose of just measles vax. We are going to South Asia in the next few months where measles is still prevelant. I know DS would probably be okay getting measles and natural immunity, but I wouldn't want him to pass it on to an infant who didn't acquire natural immunity the first year from mom

This probably doesn't help because it's a different disease but I remember reading on one of my books that chicken pox immunity transferred for about a year.
