Got a new kitty -- lied to and worms :(

A friend and I got kitties from a friend of theirs that owns a farm. This "friend" said the cats were looked at and tested for worms when his horses and cows were visited by the vet. We took this guys word because he was a friend and part of his livelyhood revolves around his horses and cows.

Our friend noticed worms in her kitty's poop. When asked he admitted that cats were NOT looked at by the vet. We got these kitties on Tuesday. Their cat has an appointment on Tuesday. The problem I have is I now have 4 animals. 2 dogs over 70lbs and 2 cats.

Is there homopathic methods to treat and deworm? Can or should we use the other kitty's test and assume they are all infected and treat them all?

As of yet there has not been litter box sharing. Our older kitty has been mad and only lightly sniffed, been pissed, and run back down stairs.

Well, what kind of worms? Tapeworms or roundworms? Or some other type?

Not that it matters, really, in terms of treatment, but if you have little kids around - be careful that they don't go anywhere near the cat that is infected.

You need to go to a vet - there is no way around it. I don't know of any homeopathic methods.

At this point, you're probably going to need to get all your animals tested. It's not just shared kitty litter - some of the worms or eggs may stick to the animals fur near the anus. If your other animals check that area out ... they'll wind up with worms too.

So, I'm afraid, it's the vet for you.

TBH, I stay away from vets as much as possible, but when it comes to worms, I just go and get the pills and get it over with.
