Because it's going on my growing list of movies that sound totally cool that I won't ever see.

Seriously, I'm getting the heeby jeebies just reading about it. So I want to enjoy it vicariously.

We're most likely seeing it tonight or tomorrow. I'll let you know.

Oh goody!

I'd be scarred for life if I watched this movie. It took me years to get over The Mothman Prophecy.

I plan on seeing it this weekend! I'll let you know how scary it is!

I'm a huge horror fan, but this one's got me scared! I'm having a friend in NYC pre-screen it for me. I'll let you know if I eventually see it!

Oooh, I want to see it! I got goosebumps just from the trailer I watched online. Of course, it's not playing anywhere in my neck of the woods.

So I saw it. How much do you want to know? I usually like most movies I see. I'm not picky as long as I'm entertained. You might like it. Everyone is different. But my first thought after seeing it was...Don't waste your money. I'm not sure how much of a scaredy cat you are but I laughed through most of it. There were a few tense moments and jumpy or creepy parts. But it wasn't scary (to me). I thought The Blair Witch Project was scarier. But, then again, you might like it. My DW and BIL loved it and were scared. There's one main reason I wasn't scared, but I don't want to tell you why in case it would ruin it. It probably wouldn't but...I'll just say that the "thing" that is haunting them isn't scary to me because I don't believe in it. DW and BIL DO believe, so they were scared. I'll leave it at that. For me it was like the thing haunting them was a killer tomato or something. Not scary to me. The whole beginning was really slow and boring. I think it might be worth the cost of renting the dvd, but not theater prices.

Hope that helps and I hope I didn't rain on your parade. I hate saying I didn't like a movie to someone that hasn't seen it. One woman's trash is another woman's treasure, you know?

Thanks, Monarch! I know what you're talking about, and I don't believe in that either. Therefore, I didn't find The Exorcist scary at all. But, I do believe in ghosts/spirits, and people doing creepy stuff tends to creep me out regardless of why they're doing it. I'll probably see it, but I look forward to what my friend in NYC says about it too. He doesn't believe in that either, but he's a huge horror movie fan.

The Blair Witch Project scared the crap out of me, and more recently I saw the movie "Shutter." (The original Asian version.) It scared me too. It was the first movie that ever made me scream out loud!

OK, good to know. I think I'd be scared anyway.

Oooh Shutter was good (Japanese version)! All of those Japanese horror movies are just SO much better than the U.S.'s. The Grudge? Oh yeah! Why is that?

Yeah, in PA- I just wish it had been a ghost haunting. It would have been a bit scarier. Plus I hated the ending, even though I knew exactly how it was going to end the whole time.

Looks like a wide release for this movie, woohoo!

I actually live in one of the towns offered (Tucson)-- finally! I live in a "cool" town!

I want to see the movie, hear it is great...but honestly? The trailer didn't look that scary to me.

You're right it doesn't look scary, it looks terrifying!

It opens here at midnight tonight!

I want to see this. I really love scaring the crap out of myself.

I agree that Japanese versions seem to be scarier....why is that?

I saw it and I liked it. It wasn't super scary for me, but I also do not believe in the thing that was haunting them. I jumped at a few suspenseful moments. I screamed at one moment Those of you who've seen it will know which one I'm talking about.

Dh and I kind of want to see this but it is really tough with a baby.

I don't know why Japanese horror films are so much scarier. It seems like a lot of the American movies have so much gore, I hate that.

There's an entertaining mental image!

Thanks for that review. I think I'll probably skip spending the $$ to see it in the theater, though I'll probably end up adding it to my Netflix queue later on just for the heck of it.

Another friend saw it and he was disappointed. Not scary for him. That's OK. I bet it's plenty scary for plenty of people.
