Anyone already debating names with SO? - Page 2

With my first, I did not even think about names until she was born. I then chose her name within about 2 days but took a few weeks before sening in the paperwork to be sure.

This time, I have been thinking about names since before I even got pregnant. It took me a long time to achieve this pregnancy so I guess I was trying to prevent myself from going crazy by spending time on something light like names instead of the lack of baby in my uterus.

So I now have a list. For girls, I have a short list I am likely to stick to. For boys, I am all over the place, but I still have somewhat of a list. I think this one is much more likely to change over the next months.

I want any name I chose to have either a first or middle name that is unisex in case my child wants to identify as the other gender or if they want to be genderless.

With my last pregnancy I posted a thread on a similar topic. I wanted to know how many mamas were specifically picking a genderless? genderfree? name... I got NO responses! None! I couldn't believe it.

(DDC Crashing again )

I've thought about if I ever had a duel-gendered child (hermaphrodite?), I would choose a gender neutral name for them

We have thrown a few names out there but wont really start thinking about it till I am farther along and know that it sticks

We've been throwing names around since we decided we would try for another child this year. We have pretty well settled on Lydia for a girl with a middle name still somewhat in debate- possibly Anabelle or Rose.

Don't know about boys. I'm thinking along the lines of Oren or Orien (for my gfather), but I'm not sold on it- especially since our last name ends in "nson", so we may try to move away from too many N's this time, and I also want to consider some biblical names (we're Christian). Elijah, Isaiah, Noah, Jonah...? Oh, and we're thinking of Robert as a middle name for a boy, for DH's gfather.

Don't' forget to consider your child's initials and monogram- wouldn't want it to be anything embarrassing.
